Sounds like the "can't lock the keys in the car" thing is active. The input for that is on the lock controller and gets grounded with the key in the ignition.

Well, good luck with it. Fwiw electrical troubleshooting is a straight forward process of signal tracing, using the schematic, until the problem is found. That's what makes it unique compared to other problems ie; there really aren't any ideas or trying things out involved. It's following a map.

A tip for someone at your level. Next time verfy your hypothesis before investing in a repair/new parts. You could have measured the CB or jumpered it. Used a fused jumper thrown together to be safe or just gone for broke with a wire. I've been dealing with electricity so long it's practically...

The point is just because you haven't seen something is no reason to dismiss it. Charge the battery. Assuming it comes up enough to start the car test the charging system. If that's OK you might have a bad door switch or maybe you didn't close the door all the way and left the lights on. Or...

If the battery measures 10 volts it's discharged. Simple as that. Why it became discharged is another story. I'm also betting there's a ton of shit you've never seen before....

I still use the O ring for alignment but the gasket renders it superflorous for sealing purposes. I'm anal though. Just don't make it too thick and best to make it the outline of the entire surface. That way you'll still get proper gear meshing and won't load the hold down clamp.
