So we're both saying the same thing: It's not the gasket's fault. That's different than what you were previously saying yet exactly what I stated. Let's call it a draw ;)
Just thought I'd throw that out. Still doesn't mean the core is clear though. Might want to at least feel it in various places. And pressure testing won't find blockages.
There is no coolant filter. You have to add one. At least you're using G-05...smart move.
Sorry Pood, no sale. I've been building engines since way before gasket came in a tube. Before even RTV was around. All we had was cork and it worked fine. Still does.
I'm not saying FIPG isn't an improvement in some ways but there nothing special about the 7M's pan or block that precludes...
Mine has had an aftermarket cork gasket on it for 10 years. Leaks not a drop. It's not about the gasket material, it's all about proper prep and installation...

Guy recently brought me a car with what he described as a "wierd" overheating problem. Temp would begin to rise only on the highway, only after driving a while, and only when the ambient was above 70 degrees F.
He'd already replaced the thermostat. The tip off was when he...
^ Lmao...
I gotta confess to puzzlement about why so many people have trouble resolving a high idle. It has to be one of the easiest problems to fix on this engine...
Not that it may be involved in this problem but sealant is supposed to be applied to both the outside *and* inside of the front cap. Look in the manual for details.
Considering the 500 is the butt of a lot of jokes for it's slowness it's ironic the X turned out to be the fastest in the world.
Fwiw early Citations are known to be the easiest of all bizjets to handle. Especially the 500. I still fly a Bravo model and Lear 35 part time for a former...
Well, it could be a few other things but you can't expect too much with little more than a "help, car broke" post.
Fuel pressure is supposed to stay up to prevent vapor formation after the engine is turned off. Depending on how long a hot engine sits (typically 30-45 minutes) a loss of rest...
^ I won't bore you with the tech details but that's normal. Contrary to popular belief Vf isn't simply a steady state voltage which can be one of five values...just that few people ever bother scoping it.
Ok, that's better. I withdraw the 98% comment and offer my apologies. The problem I had was that HC is not by any means a sole indicator of richness. You can be lean and have high HC. Plus it can also be caused by non-mixture related problems. Also CO isn't reported in ppm as previously...
