    gumed up cylinder head

I think the problem here is one of bad English by the OP combined with a lack of thought on the part of some readers. I'm guessing by "finished" he doesn't mean junk. Course, I could be wrong...

    VTA-E2 Voltages/Resistance

Ah, I see. You meant timing the sensor sweeps. I thought you meant ignition timing. My bad. If you followed the TSRM procedure (and it sounds like you did) I'd be very surprised if you got more than around 1 sweep per second. If so that'd be the first sensor I've ever seen do it. Too bad...

starting problems: power drain? [Solved: Clutch saftey switch]

You be welcome and thank you for remembering/learning. People like you are the sole reason I'm here. That and to keep IJ in line ;) I vaguely recall discussing this with the OP in an old thread. Iirc it turned out something was weird about his car. Or maybe he's hearing the ABS actuator...

starting problems: power drain? [Solved: Clutch saftey switch]

And you're both right. The fuel pump does not run until the key is moved to the start position. When the key is released the pump remains on only if the ECU is receiving CPS signals (GTE) or if air is flowing through the AFM (GE). There is no "priming" done before engine start. Anyone who...

    VTA-E2 Voltages/Resistance

If someone else was timing it you must have been at idle. You had to be or timing isn't possible. There is absolutely no way the sensor could cross count that fast at idle. It won't do it even at 3000 rpm. I asked about the smoke test because a leak in the exhaust system upstream of the O2...

    VTA-E2 Voltages/Resistance

Vf should hold steady during cruise, preferably at mid range. Also, I seriously doubt your sensor cross counted that many times in 10 seconds. You really ought to check it in diag mode using Vf with the engine off idle. And just because the sensor is cross counting doesn't mean the mixture is...

    Coolant filter pics

Lots of places. Ebay and McMaster Carr come to mind. Buying a tool made specifically for them is wise. I like the cable operated ones. Mine is the top of the line Mayhew RigiFlex but there are lots of cheaper plier types out there. http://tinyurl.com/56mbo4 Dub: Looks good ;)

    Speed Density

Yeah, Google "speed density" and it's the very first link. That many people are too lazy (or in this case tooslow) to look for stuff on their own is pretty sad.

    Problems with AFM connections

What was the resistance? Based on your description of the problem the CPS is not bad. You wouldn't have spark or fuel if it was. Nor would the tach bounce. Nor do you have a CPS code. In fact, it should be impossible to set code 14 if the CPS is not functioning. True, but the TPS must be...

    AC Issue

It's because they know the customer will be back and they can get him twice ;) Although not recommended I've flushed evaporators in car with the TXV installed (blow hot air into the suction line to open it) and gotten away with it about 30% of the time. No guarantees but it beats taking the...

Power Steeing fluid leak from boot

Flush the system and add back synthetic fluid and seal swell then hope for the best. While you have it apart install a Magnefine filter in the return line below the AFM: http://tinyurl.com/yed4wx

    better gas mileage?

I gotta agree with Weezl. You want to play you have to pay. Frankly, if you want better fuel economy do everything he said and drive as if there's an egg between your foot and the pedal. Not much fun but it works. That said there are people here running lean. Iirc that's one of the benefits...

    AC Issue

Andy: Assuming that means the opposite of disingenuous I'm guilty as charged. One year should be OK but it depends on things like humidity, how "open" it was, stuff like that. The problem is once a system is exposed to the atmosphere acid begins to form in the oil. Depending on how long it's...

    better gas mileage?

You can run much leaner than stoich as long as it's in steady state cruise. You can do that all the way up to about 75% power, which is more than you'll ever need going down a relatively flat highway. Course, knowing how to technically accomplish that is another story.

    AC Issue

Your compressor seized, very likely because the system wasn't serviced correctly. You now have what's known as Black Death in the AC biz. To have any real reliability in the future requires the entire system be overhauled. Very expensive. This is what happens when a system is left empty for a...

Wideband says running too rich when buildling boost

If the MIL came on a code was set. I'm guessing it's going to be AFM related. Search around for how to check codes and let us know. And buy a manual. A real one.
