Here's the deal:
Back about a year ago, I went to an auto parts store to get a turbo alternator. Inventory showed that they actually had two of them on the shelf, so I got one, went outside and bolted it in. Then I realized it was a nonturbo alternator, in a turbo box. Undoubtedly, someone like...
LMAO! That's not a vibration problem- that's just the Supra trying to shed some of the shit bolted to it!
J/K- couldn't help myself...:naughty:
Hey- Did you resurface the flywheel before putting the new clutch in? Generally, a clutch will chatter if it's bolted to an uncut flywheel, at least...
No, just a little bigger, but I've got an FPR line right behind it, and I didn't want things to squeezed together back there. I read that it'll fit with no real mods at all.
Um, I didn't get the impression that hes was trying to remove it, just add a switch that allows disabling when desired, as well as the fact that it's supposedly going to be a rally car. Maybe someone can tell me- Do race cars-aka- NASCAR, CART, Formula 1- use ABS? I've never heard.
PS-...
I just ordered the 130amp alternator from Egay.
I imagine it is simply a rewound, stock alternator, or maybe they use a different type of regulator or IC's. I had planned on doing the MR2 alternator, but didn't want to deal with squeezing that oversize badboy in there with the fuel plumbing I have.
[Michael Jackson music in the backround...]
That bolt is really stuck- it's simply not fair-
It's supposed to be removed but it don't seem to care
You better hit it up with more than just cold air, so-
Heat it. Just heat it.
I'm sorry- I was bored.
ANYWAY- Use a propane torch to warm it up
Ok, for the past year or so I have been collecting parts for my next buildup; a 7MGTE that'll reliably handle the 300-400hp range. I wanted to have a complete longblock ready to drop in, rather than rebuilding my current one, so I could reduce downtime. Besides, as soon as the old engine is...
What's the thickness of material between the valve relief and the piston edge?
In the model, it looks REAL thin. (Of course, ALL hot models are thin..:)
I assume it's a normal dimension, though, yes?
Hey- I didn't see that you're in stockbridge.
I'm up in Kennesaw. I was going to say- if you have an NA, shouldn't your timing be set at 12degrees? I can't remember, but that should help with the hesitation.
If project 2 has some some of problem like...I dunno- it runs rough maybe,
check to make sure it has six spark plugs.
:naughty:
Just kidding (I couldn't resist)
Honestly- who here HASN'T had a brainfart, and overanalyzed a problem on their Supra, only to find out it was something simple...
Yeah- What is the status of this group buy?
I've been sitting on a block(not literally), waiting to put it together, and I want to get an idea of when this might happen. If not reasonably soon, I'll have to go with my new cast pistons. Any info is appreciated.
