Lmao. Fail indeed. Better to use the 234F one for an audible overtemp alarm. Even though mine never sounded I still considered it a nice thing to have.
It doesn't follow that wear decreases resistance. The film (technically it's thick film btw, my bad) is being removed. Look at it this way: after it's gone and the wiper is on the underlying substrate there's no connection at all. Infinite resistance. Besides, have you ever seen any form of...
Well, if it's no big revelation why are you asking and why haven't you done it? ;) I've said it before: drop testing is one of the most valuable skills car people can learn. Constant loading of this particular circuit and what I usually find as the culprit is the real secret though.
Keep in...
I'll tell you what I do: I load the circuit using either a solid state electronic load (a couple of headlamps will also work) or a constant current power supply in place of the battery (ground the starter signal wire) to above what the solenoid normally draws and then step through it using one...
On the contrary. Assuming the TPS was already off idle it results in a temporary but minor lean condition. Think of the TPS as a replacement for the accelerator pump in a carb. And btw a TPS doesn't decrease in resistance as it wears. At least I've never seen one do it. The wiper increases in...
Yeah, that and ham fisted owners who don't know how to disconnect it ;)
There's also the short piece of heat shielding over the turbo coolant hose and the silicone shielding over the CPS wiring. If you saw how it comes from the factory you'd understand. Over time that stuff disappears and the...
Fwiw I had my car 22 years and it departed with the same undamaged CPS connector that came on it new. Nor did I ever have to mess with it in order to start the car. Not once. I understand it's a common problem but the reasons for their failures are not difficult to understand and wholly preventable.
The dealer is going to tell you what IJ already did: the only O ring that's supposed to be on the thing is there. And assuming there were an O ring where you believe one goes what do you think it's purpose would be and why would a missing one cause whine?
Not really new. Use it every holiday season. Don't know the source (was sent to me a few years ago) but do a google image search for "santa plane". The internet is more than a global pornography network you know ;)
People should come to this forum to learn about these cars. After all that's what it's for. The problem is many who come seemingly know almost nothing about cars at all. Any car. In other words they're lacking in even the fundamentals, something they should be learning on their own. Not saying...
My solution is to keep quiet. The reason for that is it can be several things...but not the wiring. At least I've never seen it be the actual wiring. Since it doesn't make sense it would be that's no surprise to me. Nor should it be a surprise to anyone who is electrically competent. But my...
Well, there's code 41 Jon. It can be set by three situations, all of which involve VTA. That said as long as the load and rpm signals "jive" you're correct in there won't be permanent enrichment. In other situations there will be. For example if VTA is maxed at idle CO will rise to around 6%...
^ Sounds like a smart way to do things.
As mentioned the car isn't OBD-II compliant. Consider it unfortunate for those who know what they're doing and a blessing for those who don't.
However it's fully OBD-I compliant. Therefore stating the car doesn't have OBD is technically incorrect...
