    Grumpy Old Men ?? Hmmmm

I agree...and I always try to remember that. The difference is I always admitted I didn't know right off the bat and put the effort into trying to figure it out by reading the book. At least I tried to have a base to work from and understand the terminology. What is frustrating to see is the...

    Grumpy Old Men ?? Hmmmm

For me, it's attitude and a willingness to learn. Too many times I've seen (and been on the receiving end) of a defensive reaction that is so common now and days. The "you're talking down to me" types, or the guys with a thin skin that do not like to be told what they are doing is flat wrong...

    Car Wont Start

Well...since that's your view. Keep changing out parts...bound to hit it sooner or later. Maybe you'll get lucky ;)

    Engine internal part strength

500 HP is at the top of what I would run on stock rods and that leaves little margin for error. I'm with IJ...get new rods if you plan on pushing those kind of numbers.

^^^ LMAO http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=RED%2D58204&N=700+115&autoview=sku Summit shows Red Line 75W-90 is $9.75 a quart...you need 2 quarts. You don't want to use this oil in the tranny (it has friction modifiers in it)...MT-90 is what you want to...

Changing oil every 3k miles. Are people wasting money?

Thought I was pretty clear ;) Personally, I would get rid of it completely and switch to a full flow cooler/remote filter circuit.

Changing oil every 3k miles. Are people wasting money?

Valve seals will not cause a pressure loss either...bad seals will cause an oil loss over time though. You need to look for another cause...the relief valve in the stock filter head is where I would start.

    Need help with 1.5jz build

CP pistons should require very little (if any) "touch up". The ones I've seen are finished as smooth as a baby's arse ;)

    car revs by it self

Yeah - my mind reading ability is sitting in a bottle of motor oil. Around here...somewhere...LOL. Based on the limited info provided, I would check the cable and throttle linkage. Especially the linkage sitting on top of the passenger side valve cover.

Trying to Solve Fuel cut - at wits end - this one will stump you

^^^ You thought wrong. How many times in this thread does it need to be said that FC is determined by the volume of air flowing past the AFM. The fuel pump has absolutely nothing to do with it.

    car revs by it self

If you describe the problem in a manner that accurately reflects what's going on, you'll get answers. Until you formulate a such a description, it is highly unlikely you'll even get a response that's going to help...playing "guessing games" is not something the knowledgeable guys here do. You...

Oh how I bet you guys that have emissions wish you got this lucky!

I'll agree there are aspects of CA emissions that are rather "draconian"...that's what happens when the bureaucrats are allowed to go nuts. The only thing I can see is on a 1JZ swap is the lack of any emissions...if it had them or could be retrofitted, I don't see a problem. On the other...

Hommer - The problem is sometimes you post the way you *think* it works...this thread is a perfect example: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70856 Some folks here have a very good idea of how the ECU works and it's backed up with Toyota documentation...JJ is without a doubt...
