Regardless of it's peak potential, I think a 57 trim will be my choice, given my more modest power goals.
However, later on if my desire grows to 500hp, maybe i'll be interested in CX's T61, version 2.0
: )
Question- to anyone reading;
Will the W58 speedo drive gear fit the R154? If so, this should be an easy fix.
And no- you dont have to swap clusters. Did you get your tach modified to work yet?
I like your gripe list, Zazzn, and appreciate the initiative.
And like I said- I'd be more inclined towards this turbo if it was more plug&play.
For now i'll aim for a 57 trim.
I've seen lots of BOV's mounted out front near the IC, exposed to the elements.
I think if you mount yours behind the fender liner, it'll be better still.
yeah, but all 4 of his bulbs? And he hit a hole, not a pole.
: )
Use a test light to determine where the electrical flow is stopping- befoer the fuse, after it, before the failure box, after it, etc.
How is this a review, or a request for a review?
And there's simply no denying that this thread WOULD be better with pictures of boobs.
Anyway- good choice of clutches, and good luck with it.
I thin you'd need to replace the drive gear on the tranny.
OR, you could replace the differential, and not worry about it, and get better highway mileage/ lower rpm cruising.
aka- 3.91 diff.
Well, my block to valve cover pipe is fairly new, and as a precaution I checked it, all good. I did find a loose vsv line, so I replaced it, but that changed nothing.
The GOOD news- I found the problem back in my 'work area'. The vac line going into the power steering idle-up valve was NOT on-...
Ok- update:
The pressure I read at the BOV was in cm, not in.
My pressure was about 10in.- too low. I should be getting about 19, as that is my manifold vacuum.
So i backtracked to the pipe that comes up vertically out from under the intake manifold, and it was 10in there as well.
Now I'm...
Hey guys-
I had mentioned this in passing in another post, but now it's an issue that I can't resolve.
Yesterday I replaced my exhaust manifold and gasket, because mine was cracked.
Anyway, I get it all together, and now the BOV won't vent. Here's what I did/touched in the process:
Removed...
This is all leaning me towards a 57 trim, to be honest.
Clock the catridge, custom feed/ drain lines, re-weld the wastegate, tack weld or collar the wastegate flapper,
all so I can get full boost 500-1000rpm later... My goal is ~400hp max. I think the 57 can get me close to this with
none of...
Well- since I started this thread, I might as well explain why I was doing this replacement:
I was replacing the exhaust manifold because the original had a crack in it, and also one of my exhaust studs' helicoils was bad.
So I replaced it and the manifold. The other reason I wanted to dig...
I was wondering wgich way the manifold to turbo gasket goes- the square one with the perfectly round hole in it. One side is mirror smooth, the other side has a raised lip around that round hole.
Does it matter?
Thanks.
Usually on the sides(the narrow sides not shown in your pics) there are 'Z' shaped punch marks across the rod and end caps.
That should help you reorient the pieces.
I like pudding.
NO WAIT! I DON'T WANT A WEEK OFF!
Just kidding.
ON subject- I'm still considering this turbo if the performance outweighs it's flapper design flaw, vs. a 57trim CT26 and it's alleged weaker shaft.
My throttle pedal's upper mounting point busted a few years ago, and the upper bolot itself partly stripped, so that I couldn't take it out.
It made for a very flimsy throttle, that would essentially bend sideways, and almost get in the way of the brake pedal. I finally decided to fix it,
And I...
