Thought it was the prototype for the second gen car, but it would seem that according to the wiki that this one was probably an aftermarket job. Here's the one and only 1990 prototype:
Could be like some of the Mk3 widebody kits 'produced' over the years, in very limited number, you know...
I have BC264's on my 1j, has a nice healthy powerband of ~2500-7xxx, but this is on stock twins. Power really doesn't drop off at all in the 7k range like the stock cams. 2j though, I can't speak for.
The Alpine Scenic route open for summer yet? That would be a somewhat convincing argument for a guy like me, but I think I'll probably be busy cleaning and painting the house so I can move in sometime before the end of the month...
Gotta say, it does kick ass. Never thought I'd really enjoy this sort of thing, but it is kinda fun. Unfortunately I moved in next to what might as well be a daycare of a neighborhood so I'm a bit concerned about ever leaving the garage open, Supras out, etc... A lift would be nice, but that's...
I will say this much about the DWS, it has a very soft sidewall. For all the reviews on the DW I read, I suspect that they also have soft sidewalls. Makes for a nice comfy ride, but makes responsiveness and direction changes a bit interesting... it's almost hard to trust the DWS at first, but...
Oh, I try my best not to, the only time I'll even think about it is if someone that would be unable to stop without rear-ending me is right on my ass. Another pet peeve, but that's another topic. I just see many people doing it out of laziness, talking on phones and being oblivious (or...
Haha, fair enough. If I remember correctly there is a modification that can be done with the seat rails (replace outright with a different one?) that lowers the seat down a bit for taller people. Hit up the FM guys and check with them. There was a really good Miata forum I remember too, miata.net?
Crack piped on Jalopnik? Eh, I'll admit it is a bit pricey, but it's a piece of art, a piece of history, a piece of super car roots... just happens to be a car too. :)
Check the group buy section for a thread about wide body fenders, Rodel started a thread in there, good info and links to where you can get the Kaze fenders made by Shine Auto Project. ;)
Definitely sounds like a sticking IACV to me, it may be slowly loosening up (and working properly) as your car sits running for a while. There is a set screw to the left of your throttle body that can be adjusted. This will cause your car to idle higher as you turn it in further (mine idles...
You know you're a Supra owner when the first thing you do after getting the keys to your new house is sweeping out the garage and parking your car in it. :)
Well for what it's worth, even a big v8 at 5000rpm is only going to put out a bit of power if you're only giving it a bit of throttle. ;)
In my experience, NA engines are much better for driving and response/control, while turbos are great for massive power.
Well, I'm pretty sure I had the fastest run of a Mk3 that wasn't err... Tony? Guy with a massively powerful 7m and hydroglide trans, black and orange car... I've met him, but the name skips my mind right now. Anyway, I think he managed to get a decent run or two in this year. Anyhow, nearly all...
Seems your trolling failed this time Cy. :p
You know, Janes Addiction had an album called "Nothing's Shocking" back when I was a young lad... seems to apply here, and that was back then.
First one is a piece of art... beautiful. That second one there I believe is the concept for a second generation Fiero that never came to be... I'd love those rear wheels though. ;)
I don't remember doing mine to be honest, but haven't had any issues. I may not have even been the one to put my head back on, it may have already been assembled by the time I got back down to the shop... That appears to be some sort of Alldata tech page, no?
