IIRC, Toyota went with the 2 piece because the critical speed is higher with shorter shafts. Still, have had a car with a 1 piece up over 150 and didn't notice anything particularly disturbing about it.
Don't sweat the oil pump too much on a 2J. The front seal should be screwed in though to hold it down for good (drill & tap around the outside and install some bolts and washers to retain it from the front, just make sure they are low profile to clear the reluctor and sealed against leaks).
Under vacuum, air is drawn from the accordian hose over the valve covers by the throttle body orifice. Under boost, air is drawn from the throttle body over the valve covers to the accordian hose. This is full time positive crankcase ventalation, a good thing. There are no check valves anywhere...
That would be me and 5 smurfs Ian. I knew I should have taken pictures. We had to keep stopping though because the guy in the hatch kept complaining, it was kind of difficult to shift too, with the girls legs on the console.

I wasn't sure what year his car was or if the early model differed significantly so, I put up the link that shows both. Somebody posted one so, I figured I'd better put up the other if they decided not to clicky on the linky. I'm sure Jeff Watson could probably write you a book on...
I drove an '88 that was doing this badly. The bezel on the headlamp switch was broken, causing it to rotate when you touched the stalk to signal. Yours may be starting to go south.
I would go to a different dealer. Maybe this will help?

I did snow for several years in my Supra. The drop throttle oversteer can be a bitch on a 5 speed, less on an auto.
Get a real set of 4 snow tires and some sandbags, then all you'll need to worry about is rust.
Trent is still on Supraforums all the time, he is a "SuperMod" over there, worked with Jeff M. in the early days and may be able to help you with the info you need. Jeff just sold his 7M for a Porsche, may not see him on the forums much anymore.
700+ is silly on the street, trust me, nevermind 1000. 70 to 130 faster than you can say "Shit, was that a cop?" while your tires are spinning in 4th. People get scared and pull off the road if you open it next to them...
Lifting the head goes back to tuning. Head stud size doesn't seem to...
