Top Gear Episode Idea... Best EVER Japanese GT Cars from pre-2000

I owned a 240sx, and couldn't agree more. Granted, Nissan's cars always focused on sport before luxury, the Mk3 was probably my favorite mix of sport AND luxury, it was just done so well. Granted, I've always had a soft spot for the R32. I don't need 12 million horsepowers, I really don't. Just...

That's why I was saying that there was still a perfectly good dirt track car left after they were done. ;)

The new who's in Chat right now thread?

Oh no... you know, if people knew about the sort of things that come out of hanging out on the flash chat, you might see more people in there. I'll try to remember to bookmark it and login from home. :)

Is there any build number info by year per color/interior combinations?

Fair enough I suppose. Great engine in theory though, at least from a handling perspective, short crank and low center of gravity, plus low overall weight. I would say Porsche has been doing right by the boxer engine, but using Porsche as a measure of what is "right" is a bit of an odd measuring...

    Weapon R Cold Air Intake

This is true. I was wondering though, how this stacks up against the Apexi, which to my knowledge was still king of the hill for intake replacement on our cars? I still have the one I had on my 7m, wanna figure out how to use it with the stock JZ airbox I have, just never got around to that...

    Timing belt broke

Also, like was mentioned, related seals are a good idea to replace while you're in there. No sense in doing the same job twice after finding a leak once it's all been put back together...

Crank Pulley Bolt flew off !

If you don't learn something new in a day, you're probably doing it wrong, or you're dead. Just yesterday, I found a pimple in the strangest place... never would have thought. :p

What is your reference location when discussing left and right side?

Was gonna point out the L-series Nissan and the old Chevy I6's... who thought that was a good idea should probably be smacked. No reason there should ever be that many holes on one side of a head... They had turbos in the late 70's? *inserts old joke here* :p And yes, I know they did. 50's...

Top Gear Episode Idea... Best EVER Japanese GT Cars from pre-2000

May have something to do with the fact that pushing power to 4 wheels puts more load on the engine... Always wanted an R32 here. :)

    God I hate People

Think ya got things a little mixed up man, the Z31 was released in the early 80's, the Z32 in 89, the GT-R in 88, and the JZA70 in 90. The JZA70 was never the fastest of that group. ;)

    Oil changing adventures

First off, if this thread would be better to put in general, feel free to move it. Changed the oil on both the 1j and the 6m this weekend. Picked up an Amsoil filter for both (EA15K51 for the 1j, EAO96 for the 6m), after reading a whole ton of threads in this section... Anyway, came across...

1jz refresh time. (need some advice)

Looks a hell of a lot cooler than the car I had when I was 19, I'd say you're doing just fine. As for the headgasket, not sure if you've ever torn down a 1j before, but they have a steel headgasket from the factory. That's not to say they can't or won't blow, I have seen that happen. As a...

    Weapon R Cold Air Intake

I'm wondering if anyone bothered to do any dyno testing with these intakes... For that kind of money, I'd expect a much more user friendly install.

Is there any build number info by year per color/interior combinations?

No love for the Subaru huh? I could probably count a dozen Subarus with more than 200k on the clock to every running Supra in the area I'm in... not to mention the Beetle, only problem with those boxers is the lack of oomph. I for one am looking forward to seeing how the new Toyota turns out...

    God I hate People

I think I can explain IJ... from my viewpoint, I hate to see when any unique (or even interesting) car gets beat up, wrecked, or otherwise destroyed. Just makes me sad to see someone destroy what could have been something that the kids tell the owner "cool car" or "nice car man", you know? I...

So, Mazda is killing the Rotary again...

If you happen to have an LS1 laying around, I think it's like $2700-3000 or so for the conversion parts to make things easy. Full on balls out FMII turbo kit is only like $5k now. Not terribly expensive, but to get to the same levels of power as my relatively stock 1j... I guess that's the...

Is there any build number info by year per color/interior combinations?

Good info man, I've seen a thread or two on here detailing the procedure, and it's a possibility for a future project, but who knows... Mk3 won't be driven much in the winter once I'm done with it, for fear of those who can't handle snow driving. Sound logic, but I unfortunately don't see it...

So, Mazda is killing the Rotary again...

Nice car man, that makes your mom about 3 points cooler for driving it. How long until FM starts seeing money for it? I'm tempted to get another one, just due to how incredibly cheap it is to make a really good handling car out of them. Power is the unfortunately expensive part up in the...

1jz refresh time. (need some advice)

Basically, I'd replace whatever you don't want to replace when the engine is IN the car. Coolant lines, and other rubber hoses, seem to be the worst for wear in an engine bay, so that would be my personal recommendation. Any pics of the Cresta? Or do you have a Cressida?

    Weapon R Cold Air Intake

In before someone points out the obvious... ;) By the way, what did you spend on that intake? I've seen them before, just never paid much attention to the price...
