    morganson's COP S-Type setup

Because I cut the boots off at the bottom, they are not a vise-like grip on the plugs, so I don't think it's as much a concern as it otherwise would be.

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

I cut the boots at the bottom, not at the top. The boots are tapered; the higher up the boots you go, the wider they are. easy removal came naturally with the cut.

    morganson's COP S-Type setup

PS- Here's a couple of pics of what I did: Cut about two inches of boot off, and cut the springs exactly in half. Undermounted mine, and bolted them to the plate from underneath. This way, I can remove the entire assembly in one piece. I added two washers between the coil mounting...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Today, I got word that my new dash is in shipment. Hope to see it in a couple days. Also, I started playing with my 'Nathan' plate, for the coil assembly. Still have some work to do to it, mainly concerning the throttle bracket assembly. But I'll get it figured out.

    morganson's COP S-Type setup

Not really sure. I moved both holes inward about 3mm each, and that did the trick. The new issue that I'm dealing with, is how to mount the throttle bracket assembly. I'm probably going to have to cut a full cutout on the driver's side of the plate, then put some threaded rod into the mounting...

    morganson's COP S-Type setup

I would like to make mention to Nathan- I have measured the two mounting holes in the plate to be approximately 7 3/8" apart, center-to-center; the actual mount points in the head are approximately 7 1/16", center-to-center. I am simply going to drill out the two holes to make it work, and...

    morganson's COP S-Type setup

Yup. Exactly as the oem coilpack works, to my knowledge. Grim Reaper is working on an ignition controller, so that we can do away with multiplex, and improve dwell times by using a better igniter option.

    morganson's COP S-Type setup

I'll give it a shot, and update/ edit if people see errors: Morganson DG500 C.O.P. mod: Coils: Dg500(long boot) or DG528(short boot). Morganson mentions that long boot fits tighter, though it must be cut down somewhat in length. The coils have a number of cross-reference numbers as...

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

Yeah, that's a nearly perfect look right there...with the exception of all that ice, of course.

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

Thanks for that great pic, DJT. I'm feeling better and better about the possible fitment now. ps- I don't mind putting a slight camber(~1.5) to the wheels either. I just don't wanna go "Hella dumb", or crazy tire stretching.

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

Supralove- Seeing as I will be putting on a rear wheel that'll be set inward an additional 19mm compared to yours- do you think that would eliminate the need for me to roll fenders?

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Received my DG500 mounting plate today, thanks to Nathan. And also got word, that my new dash is now on its way from Ohio. Hoping to see that either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Ha- Nevermind, Nathan; it was indeed taped to the unopened end of the box. All set!

    morganson's COP S-Type setup

Received my plate in the mail just a couple minutes ago. Looks fantastic, Nathan- thanks again. Only issues is, that I didn't get any spacers with it. Honestly, not really an issue. I plan on using threaded rod to mount it, and i'll simply place nuts/ washers at the proper support height.

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

Thanks guys- I know this subject might fall under the massive wheel wheel fitment thread, but the wheels I'm thinking of using, are FR500 replica's, in 18x9+30 and 18x10+40. Do these sound like reasonable sizes/ offsets? I'd rather not roll the fenders, but will if necessary. Also, I have...

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

Update- I did find one place, that has 60.1mm to 70.4mm. Would this be precise enough to help center the wheel?

Quick question about mustang wheels and bores.

I was looking at a set of new FR500 rims, and the wheel bore is 70.6mm Our hub bore appears to be 60.1mm. Now I've seen alot of guys put mustang wheels on their cars, but I haven't been able to locate a hubcentric spacer to fill that bore gap. My questions are: Am I not looking in the...
