It's also in Arizona, where any additional heat in the cabin is quite unnecessary. :p I personally never worried about it, if your AC is working well, you shouldn't even notice it. Tint your windows if you haven't already, I know of a really good place in Glendale that has done 3 of my cars now...

Agreed. Been through 4 or 5 Wyoming winters with Mk3's, 1 with a Mk2, they make good winter dailies with the right tires. Mk2 required a sand ballast in the back seat though, I suspect due to the suspension geometry changes as the car squats... was hard to accelerate from a stop pointed straight. :p

Not bad not bad. I managed to beat the 700PP Le Mans B-spec race last night with the Toyota Minolta 88CV. Low downforce (45f/55r), 36kg ballast at -50, and tuned to 1040hp. Won, but it wasn't as easy as I had hoped. Pitted on lap 8 for new RI tires, where competition pits for RH tires on lap 9...

I'd look into R&P swaps before I'd go to the headache of an entire diff swap. Might look into Truetrac, Kaaz, etc as an aftermarket replacement, or Jaws Gear.

Welcome to SM, sounds like you have a lot of reading on here to benefit from. If you're worried about emissions, a 2jz *should* be able to pass smog in most places (they're legal in CA, if done properly), so don't put it off the table if it's an idea you're fond of. ;) EDIT: A 1j CAN meet...
