    Exhaust ed

Welcome to Supramania sir, you or your daughter has pretty good taste in cars. :) That said, if you're not willing to fix the occasional issue with a Supra, you've either bought the wrong car, or are preparing yourself to spend a good chunk of money at random... these cars tend to be misused...

    post snow pics here

Fuck snow. That is all. Not sure about the car (never liked bras on cars), but that is a badass picture sir. :D

Widebody: S2 front fenders and Kaze Aerocraft rear fenders (Shineautoproject Replica)

Dan, I can only suggest two things if you're not a body guy and this is your daily: -Make REALLY good friends with a GOOD body guy (check previous work, current work, etc, do your homework!) -Buy another car to get you around while you're doing the body work. I fully expect to not drive my Mk3...

Exact speaker size for the '87 Turbo Supra?

That's what I used when I had my 88. Boxes that were pre-made for 6x9's, nothing special, bought them at a local speaker shop for relatively cheap. Just had to figure out a way to make them stay put, so I used some sort of small latches for doors/gates to hold them to the sub box, which was...

First time back at the dragstrip.

Sounds like a friend's 7m... awesomely powerful, but if the tires hold, the clutch cooks itself. If the clutch holds, no way in hell do the tires stand a chance. I'm running DM's cheaper 6 puck (Action?) clutch and pressure plate set. I'm sure it'll hold just fine for you into the mid-400's...

    MK2+7M+v160+5.29 final drive

I would look into custom pistons, or if 7m pistons fit a 5m rod and block. A 6m engine is just a 7m bottom end with 5m head and pistons, perhaps a 7m head can be bolted onto a 5m just as easily. Bam, 4 valve head, de-stroked bottom end, problem solved. Might even be able to get some...

    NASCAR testing.

Wow, they're finally running racing technology from the 50's, and production technology from the 80's? Congrats NASCAR! :D I am the same way. Neat to read about, the tech can be cool, but its like golf or sex: much more fun when you're a participant as opposed to spectating. Road courses kick...

My 1988 Celica GTS.... "Square One"

Still looking good man. Nearly finished with my Celica/Supra book that the old lady got me. Good read on the history of these cars, this one in particular was rather interesting...

General questions for a general thread

I think he was talking steering wheel too, I was just having a laugh at my own stupidity on this end. I never cared for bulky steering wheels (anything 90's era GM with airbags comes to mind) with their 4 spoke wheels... ick. Some newer cars though, fit a bag in nicely. Not sure how difficult it...

    5-M Lower Radiator Pipe Question

Isn't that to clear that power steering on the 7m? If I remember correctly, the 5m has only 3 accessories (AC, PS, Alt.), and the bottom left side of the motor (when looking from the front of the car) is mostly open... I could be wrong, been forever and a day since I worked on an M...

    ACT or RPS???

I'm looking into a twin disc of some sort if the current setup turns out to not hold enough to still be fun in the future. If what I have in there now won't hold what I'm setting up, a stronger single disc would NOT be comfortable to drive... Plus, aren't twin clutches smaller in diameter?

First oil change after rebuild- health of engine ? [Pics]

Sorry for the nightmares (your other thread) haha... Just look at it like I do: A BHG is your car's way of testing you. Happens to damn near all of us at some point, it's a near inevitability with "virgin" 7m's I think. If you take the time to repair it right, you passed the test, and your car...

small modifications done on a budget for 89 na supra

I agree, leave the car alone, if you strip things out in the name of performance, chances are you're not going to like the car as much. As for a 1j on a small budget, it can be done, given proper skills and tools. My engine/trans cost me $2222 to my door. Less than $800 worth of gaskets, fluids...

    Whaletail "seam-split" issue? (ShineAutoProject version)

You might try talking to Rodel on here, he seems to be the best contact for Shine.

    Gran Turismo 5, anyone?

Like a real crew, that's pretty badass... or geeky, not sure which. :p Anyone manage to complete the b-spec race on Cirque de la Sarthe (Le Mans track) on the recent B-spec seasonal events? I couldn't get around to doing that one more than once. By all accounts and numbers, my guy should have...

    Anyone from Arkansas?

Strange, never come across that before, but I've only registered cars in a couple places. Is that a one time tax when you BUY the car initially? If so, that makes sense. If that's an annual charge, that's kinda BS...

Need some expert emissions help! 87 B2200 Mazda Pickup

Maybe, who knows? I didn't know AZ had stricter levels for testing, that seems strange. Would be curious to see if my car even comes close, but I'd have to drive to Utah to have it tested, and there is NEVER a good reason to drive to Utah...

    show us your swap

So jealous, for so many reasons... why do you have SOOOOO much engine bay room? Even the L28 wasn't filling that was it? Is eeet done yet? I haven't followed your thread in far too long. And then there's this fucking guy... couldn't even be bothered to close up the old harness hole...

    5-M Lower Radiator Pipe Question

I didn't know the lower hose would be a swappable part, but that makes enough sense I suppose. The question is, why not just use the 7m one?
