chugging under heavy throttle in higher gears

Anytime during accel, including WOT. The thing is the ECU learned value has increased duty cycle on your 440 injectors to compensate for the increased flow from the Lex AFM. In the upper range of duty cycle, changes to FP can have bigger than expected results. I'm telling you to be...

    Help with code 71

EGR gas temp below a predetermined level during the EGR ops range. Your EGR valve or the path to the exhaust manifold is likely clogged up.

    vac ports on TB vacuumless?

    Interesting :sarcasm:

chugging under heavy throttle in higher gears

If you see your AFR go above 12.5 under accel...STOP.

    Freeze plug?

Then you're a better man than me with a BFH...I tried and couldn't do it with the turbo and manifold on the engine. The air hammer and disk on the other hand worked well....with a lot less "exercise" ;) I've been telling guys about Dorman plugs myself for a long time. It's one of those...

chugging under heavy throttle in higher gears

Ok...that's better. Why is a 9.9 AFR making you uncomfortable? That AFR is very rich under accel...11.0-11.5 is a better target. Drop your FP as suggested...start with 32-34 psi and pay attention to AFR. The popping you hear in your muffler is unburned gas lighting off. 16 AFR under decel...

chugging under heavy throttle in higher gears

Wait...you can't see your wideband while you are driving? What's up with that? A 14.4-15.0 AFR at idle is good. I need to know what AFR does under accel. 48 psi (with vac on) is a bit on the high side...you're "chugging" could be from a over rich condition.

chugging under heavy throttle in higher gears

Ummmm...it's not idle I'd be worried about ;)

chugging under heavy throttle in higher gears

That is going to depend on the condition of your 440's...I would start at 32 psi to see if it eliminates the problem. Going lean is another matter...you need a wideband. Any FP psi numbers is pure speculation. I would avoid going into the high RPMs until: 1) You get some 550 injectors 2)...

    vac ports on TB vacuumless?

These 2 vac ports are for the BVSV (fwd port - to purge the charcoal canister) and the EGR (rear port). Neither will provide vacuum at idle...the ports are forward of the TB plate when it's closed. Both are very poor choices to supply vac to the BOV ;) Why not just use the vac line...

Auto Transmission Won't Shift At WOT in 2nd with ECT

It's on the passenger side of the tranny...the linkage attaches to the selector stud protruding through it. It would be helpful if you took a look at the auto tranny section of the TSRM ;)

chugging under heavy throttle in higher gears

It's actually 0.031" ;) However, for above stock boost you want to bring it down a bit...0.027" works well for me. BTW - My FP is 27psi vac on at idle with the Lex/550 combo. If you're using 440's with a Lex, you want that up to at least 30-32psi (vac on). If you must run 440's, I...

    headgasket

The Cometic is more "forgiving" in the sense that it requires a 50 RA spec...a bit higher than an HKS (30 RA). That is not a lot...you will still have to have BOTH the block and heads decked to meet that spec. If you can't, use an OEM composite HG.

    Freeze plug?

RTV is useful to lube the press fit...I imagine Red Loctite would work too. Clear silicone, maybe...RTV would be better because of the heat rating.

    vacuum?

I can see pulling 24 in/hg during decel...that is possible. There is no way on this planet you can pull 29 in/hg during decel...re-read my post above and think about it. Near perfect vacuum with an internal combustion engine? I can see why you would think it is given your gauge/MAFT...

    Freeze plug?

Took me about a hour once I made the drive disk...I guess you can make it a all day affair by pulling the motor if you want ;) The big difference is these disks drive the plug in from the edge...effectively negates the problem using multiple light hits with a hammer/socket. I made...

    Freeze plug?

You trying to tell me that you can swing a sledge hammer between the side of the engine bay and the block with enough force to drive the plug in? Have you ever replaced a plug with the motor in this car? I have...several times. I'll tell what won't work...the hammer and socket technique...

    Freeze plug?

It's frustrating and takes forever because there is no room to work with the motor in the car. The way IJ said to install is the way to do it...it's impossible to do due to the lack of space to get a swing at it. The only way is to use an air hammer and the install disks. The plugs I replaced...

    Freeze plug?

You're lucky ;) When a freeze plug blows, all the coolant is dumped on the ground in very short order.
