Except me, my torqueless wonder will no be attending and if my supra were to run, it would probably end up being a high 11 (w/ slow66 driving) or a high 12, low 13 (me driving my 1st season on a track). And it is more of a global shit talking thread, with specific moments.
Getting this...
If you don't mind being auto (light RWD car + auto + boost) then you can just pick up a chaser or soarer 1jz motor set and it will run you less, and the transmission will not need any work.
Edit:
The Chaser is front sump, the style you need.
We know it is real, want me to pull up the flow numbers for the 1jz head vs the 2jz head and show you that 1.5jz is worthless unless you are swapping from a 1jz to a 1.5jz? On top of that, it costs more money, as you need to buy both the 1jz and the 2jz bottom end. Besides, you will need a...
Drop out of school, as it will cost me what I make all week to fill the tank to go there or not eat when I am not home. One cannot live on $118.95 a week, with the way gas prices are. I had a hard time last semester, and it had just peaked over $4 here.
$4.49 for 87 in southern CT today...
It is just like you said, it is a 2jz block with a 1jz head. The only gain that this is used for is when you have dumped an assload of cash into your 1jz head, and somethng happens to the bottom end.
Spools quick (should see full boost at 3500-4000 with a 12cm^2 housing.) and violently (full vac to full boost in 1krpm or less). It is a t3 footprint with everything from a 9cm^2 to a 16cm^2.
Try $40 :)
Hopefully that was sarcasm. You still need the driver mod with an auto, you can just launch in boost, have no boost loss between shifts and shift faster than any human being in a comperable manual car.
A few of us have thought of doing this, but this guy was the first, and includes a writeup:

I am going down this road myself, and was wondering who would want a cast spacer to do this themselves. So, who wants one?
The problem is that I do not have enough $$ for a th350 or th400 swap. I would be looking at around 1k for the transmission alone, 800 for the torque converter, 800-1000 for the adaptor plate and flex plate, not to mention the custom DS and the B&M super cooler.
I am looking for a cheaper...
