    upgrading stock speakers

I test fit my Polk db501 (might be the 521, 5.25" speakers, I don't remember), they fit both in the doors and in the rear area. Really anything is possible if you are clever enough. Hell, I've seen 6x9's in the back of a Supra or two... NOT easy, but it can be done.

Transmission is making a little knock noise ..

Your transmission is knocking? That's a new one to me... Have you inspected your clutch? Wait... did you recently change to a puck-style clutch?

    This is no laughing matter

New one for the day, potentially offensive to some I'm sure, but I subscribe to the school of thought that you can make fun of anyone you want, as long as you can make fun of yourself. "Why don't you see many Africans on cruise ships?" They're not falling for that one again...

Minor auto accident injury experiences? I'd appreciate feedback!

What DT said above. Keep in mind, it's in their best interest to pay as little as possible. Don't let them bully you around. ;)

Knock as the engine reaches Operating Temp

I understand the concept, but on the 1jz, your plug boots are on brackets in pairs. IIRC (it's been a while since I changed plugs), to pull one wire, you have to pull both due to the design on our engines. Aww, but getting zapped is half the fun man! :p Maybe your car wants to be an airplane...

Fuel cut = check engine light? 1jz break up at 4500 rpm

You are correct on the constant blinking meaning that there are no codes... that are stored. Fuel cut in my experience only causes a brief CEL, but it doesn't stay stored. 2. Does fuel cut cause the CEL to come on? Yes, but only briefly. 4. My car idles @ about -12 HG. I figured this...

    Radiator blew the top open

Happened to my old 88 right before I bought it actually, but for a completely opposite reason. It was December 7th, 194.. err... 2005, and it was a COLD sonofabitch here that day. -25°, some places as low as -30° (ambient by the way, count in another 20° colder from the wind chill). Anyway, the...

    Changing out Stock 1JZ twins

Albert's turbo rebuild thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?146063-Custom-CT26-CT12a-and-CT20-Upgrades Would be a good time to "upgrade" (I use that term lightly here) the y-pipe to the ebay y-pipe. Takes a bit of work/simple machining to get the flanges in good shape, but...

MKIII- Carbon Fiber Regulus Nose Panel: Interest Of Group Buy

Hmm, do have to account for packaging supplies, hadn't thought of that... if you have to get special boxes for these, that could add up. I'm sure most of us (myself included) didn't give much thought to that.

    knocking noise,but not rod knock

Meaning that as your rpms rise, does the sound get faster? It will likely smooth out eventually (probably by the 3000rpm mark), but it gets worst in the early-mid 2000rpm range in my experience. I'll agree with the other posts, it sounds almost exactly like rod knock to me.

Best brake option for with stock 16" rims?

Ran Porterfield R4S pads on OEM rotors that were freshly turned. Worked well for a street car, probably not so much for a track application though. The ARZ kit can fit under many 17" wheels though, so if you can go that route, that would be my suggestion if you plan on abusing them. Plus, 17"...

Steps to take before a long drive

I tend to beat the hell out of a car for a couple weeks before any long trips. If nothing breaks or does anything funny in the break in period, it should be good to go. Things can and do happen though, so be prepared: -tools (mostly just the basics, you probably won't be re-doing a bottom end...

Gran Turismo 3 hidden video? Mini Cooper VS F1 car, long shot here...

Indeed, this is the video. Sidewinder posted the video, but it doesn't have that song in the background like I mentioned. I'll have to dig out the PS2 and see if I can't find the video myself. I'll post up what I figure out, if anything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl00v8D2pGU[/url]...

    Changing out Stock 1JZ twins

If you want to keep the twins, I would suggest getting a set from Albert. When they arrive, pull your engine (trust me here, it will be quicker, and done with a lot less headache), and swap your turbos out easily. ;)
