But you were close on the 350 minimum ...and I think Mike's a cheater- I bet he strapped his CT26 to one of BP's blowout preventers...

    Brake fluid disposal?

The shop I work at mixes all the waste oils together- Power steering fluid, brake fluid, hydraulic fluid, trans fluid, oil, and brake clean to name a few. We too have oil burners and they don't seem to care what we feed them, as long as the coolant concentration isn't too high. Even then, it's...

    92nsx's supra build

I have an adapter, I think... Does the lex use the stock air cleaner bolt pattern or not?

Indeed- I thought the same thing when I got back that day. How thick is your I/C? Mine is only 3" but I will be running E-85 soon. Tuner says there's 50HP in timing alone pulled at this boost, let alone the fact I can run more boost and we can lean it out a little more (running 11:1 right now...

    Mr.Yuk's Swap/Build

Congrats Drew, I knew it could be done! Just make sure you have a rubber insulator on the upper mount- the rad should be electrically insulated from the body.

If you can't find a harness to get the connector from, give me a call- I know I still have one on my original 91 harness!

Water pump failing - need to know what I can replace with it...

Replace both 90 degree hoses. I had a bad clamp on my engine right after I rebuilt it (and replaced both 90 deg hoses) and it spat coolant out of the pipe-hose joint due to the low clamp tension. I'd also replace the t-belt if it hasn't been done in a long time, and a new t-stat for the bare...

Drew's got everybody confused! ha HA! Officially I vote Toyota for shaft seals and gaskets, but I am completely Pro-Drew for valve seals. Viton is so very much FTW!

My clutch chatters a bit when it's really hot, but not so much when it's cold. I would say it's a very streetable clutch.

Good plan. I actually got this clutch used (for $150!) but it retails for ~650! ---->Well worth every penny! But, I will say this: stage 1=400, stage 2=460, stage 3=520, stage 3+=620, stage 4=520, stage 5=710. These are the advertised TQ holding capacities at SIP racing, so obviously I got the...

    Looking at 7MGTE Ignition Alternatives...

They went up into the 11.4 area at peak power, but I don't know how much timing he pulled. I know I could have made it work with that, but I'm fairly picky when it comes to my engine so I had him back off on fuel and timing for safety/reliability. If you followed my build, you'll see that I had...

    Dyno off a smarthphone

Unfortunately, those apps are tremendously unreliable. They are fun little do-dads, but are just not accurate. Some magazines have tested the free track apps and compared the results to a driftbox, and they were all inaccurate.

    Boss turbo or driftmotion????

Meth is supposed to help keep the heat down and it also acts as an octane booster (not 100% sure of that, though) so you can safely run more boost/timing. The A/R of the Sr. Turbo exhaust housing is .83 and the Jr. series is .58

    Looking at 7MGTE Ignition Alternatives...

Used coils, wires, and ignitor. I have spent a total of $135 (shipping included) on my ignition system. (Ebay FTW!) But once I start to see problems I will likely be buying all new coils and wires, though. The only catch is that you need to be running standalone to use the DH61 ignitor. You can...

    92nsx's supra build

Re-post for Rob's referance... My clutch is a Spec stage 3+ with the spec pressure plate and the stock flywheel. I read about lots of aluminum flywheel users welding the clutch to the steel insert, so I would say stock or spec chrome-moly only. pic...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Yeah, he was fairly unhappy with how noisy my internals are- had a hard time telling what was knock and what was normal noise. When we cranked it up to 19/20lbs the AEM started to pull timing + added fuel, which means it was seeing knock, so we backed off to 17 and pulled timing to be safe. In...

    Looking at 7MGTE Ignition Alternatives...

Ask and ye shall receive! As you can see it's really rich, but I would rather build some safety into the tune. We actually made 425, but pulled timing in case I run into bad gas in the future. (too bad that doesn't count towards the HP list ;) ) I don't know if it's the igniter, or the...
