Can of CO Cleaner and a small pick to unclip each connector from the plug, clean carefully then squeeze the female a touch tighter before putting it back into the connector.

Sounds exactly like it had welded itself together then broke free on the trip home.
The biggest telltale was firing it up and it drove away in gear.
Maybe take a roll of TP next time for those 2nd gear shits? ;)
The steel barbs on the stock covers are pressed in and there's plenty of meat on the cover to drill and tap them to 3/8th Npt.
I run -10 to a T then into the pipe between the airfilter and the Turbo.
