    Depends on what thickness and type of material you intend to use. I try and shoot for about 75% penetration when I weld IC pipes to keep the inside as smooth as possible, the Mig can be a little hard to get this sort of control but you can do it with some practice.

    First time seeing that for me but I'd keep it as it doesn't look like it will fail at the arms like the more normal one with the spokes.
