For what it's worth I found in sustained high 400>low 500rwhp pulls if I ran tight clearences I was seeing some very freaky wear patterns on the main bearings as the block wet noodled all over the place.
I ended up running high side of the spec/low 2 thou clearences and 10/60 synthetic and...
Had 6x 100cc nozzles in the intake runners, if done this way you have to run a solenoid (I do anyway no matter where the nozzle ends up)
On the Chev I'm going to use a single 625cc in the IC pipe about 10" preTB.
