I'd have thought you'd want it wrapped as close to the flange as you could seeing that's the hottest part?
(haven't done mine yet but thought I'd ask to see if you had a reason)

I believe you can buy reman racks there a new PPS rack here from the dealer is $3700 AUD so $2900 USD at today's exchange rate.

I couldn't live with the Coffee Grinder Bosch pumps I was running as my car is so quiet they seemed MUCH louder than I wanted, swapped in the AeroMotives and while better they were still noisy so I ended up PWMing...
I seriously doubt it would damage the bearings but it WILL continue to destroy the fit/finish on the Crank snout and Damper bore so consider both parts junk.
I would more than likely just part mine then crush the shell as it's worth x5 that way but it would depend on the offer at the time as I don't have a set amount in mind.
It's very rare you break even let alone turn a profit, I look at my cars as toys that if worst comes to worst I can afford...
Just make sure the Crank bolt is pulled down to 195ft/lbs and NO a fucking rattle gun isn't the tool to use....... (not directed at you SV just seems to be the tool of preference for a lot people)
