I'd lay a gasket on it and see if the errosion is inside the copper sealing ring of a composite gasket then lay that on your MHG of choice and compare.
Much the same as pulling the EFI fuse it's disconnecting the Injector resistors so there's no power getting to them, be aware however that the Ignition is still live.
