Digi's give an incorrect reading due to the way they work, borrow an analogue one then if it still has current go through all your grounds and make sure they're clean/tight.
A rad will only last a few months if the current is too high. :(

There's no real way of knowing how much Oil came out when you dropped the pan as these things will keep dripping for a month after the pan is off!
A total dry fill can be around 5>8 litres.
Dipstick is the only way to accurately fill it.
You do realise they were withdrawn from sale due to some strength/installation issues?
Be a good idea to isolate your Rad with some rubber under the mounts.
Usually if you put it in gear and it won't move it doesn't have enough Oil, these Auto's are fairly bombproof unless it's a million miles old or the screen is blocked solid they'll work.

Where is it reading on the dip stick with the car at operating temps with the engine running in park?
The trans "should" shift 100% on just the shifter even if everything is unplugged.
Are you 100% sure the taper is correct?
From memory Ferrea use a different angle not sure on BC as I haven't used his hardware, unless you're using retardedly stiff springs a stock collet won't fail.
You have it backwards you need less spring tension for low vacuum operation, it surges when the valve isn't opening.
I use a pair of TurboSmart type 3's and run a large bore hose to them and had to cut 1/3 from the springs to cure my part throttle surge.
