Also I'd make 100% sure that TDC on the Damper is actually TDC on the timing case as the 7M dampers have a habit of slipping on their hubs giving an incorrect timing mark.
To do this pull #1 plug and place a chopstick so it's sitting on the piston then rotate the crank watching the chopstick...
95% of the 7M fail is caused by the owners.
Kids get these cars that have had little to no servicing done for the past 10>15 years bump the timing bump the boost then wail on them like they're Paul Walker and wonder why they grenade.....

With an auto you want a bit deeper gearing to make full use of the torque multiplication from the converter, you'd also be raising the cruising RPM so economy will suffer, the 650 with it's low 1st can give you the best of both worlds if you use the right diff ratio.
