OK, the plan so far is this:
1PM - meet time at Varsity House (location previously posted)
3PM - poker run - Through Corvallis to Mary's Peak and back(contingent on weather). I would like to include a couple of nice locations for a photo shoot during the run, so plan to show and shine a bit...
I seem to recall H&R springs being singled out as one of the stiffest springs for the supra. I dont know about reputable, but I have seen them for sale new on Ebay.
I was trying to avoid posting in this thread 'cause I was kinda embarrassed. I like my car, but its far from the same level as Kwnate or SH or any number of other supras here.
I was asked to provide some photos for this project because he was looking for a car with an A-duct. (for the record, I...
In that pic right there, mounted on the firewall just above the charcoal canister, the round metal looking thing, with the big wire loom running behind it. That the heater vsv. The vacuum line running to the switch right below it...run it to the top of the diaphram instead (you can see the vac...
For a Turbo noob I do alright....
Wait...that wastegate thing...does it look like a balloon knot? :biglaugh:
(ok, its late, and a poop chute joke was all I could come up with)
And we'll get that car of yours sorted out eventually Tim. Just gotta keep chipping away at it.
yeah, I too agree that it sounds like a fuel delivery or pressure issue. The broken dipstick is going to affect the PCV system to a small degree, but I doubt it would cause the kind of symptoms you're having.
I would also check the AFM wiring. The oil change place probably looked at your air...
Ive run into that so many times. Was a similiar car here in Corvallis some time ago, BHG, sat forever, all 4 tires were flat it sat so long...the guy wanted $1500. I laughed and said "I'll give ya $400 and THATS BEING GENEROUS!"
Car was sitting there 2 months later (its since disappeared...
The heater VSV controls the flow of hot water to the heater core. Its Toyotas way of trying to make the A/C system more effective. When you have the heat slider to cold the valve is closed and therefore no hot water is going to the core. When you slide the heat to hot, a switch located under the...
most likely your heater vsv is bad. Its on the firewall on the passenger side just above the charcoal canister. you can try bypassing the switch by plugging the vacuum source right into the diaphram and see if the diaphram operates.
I had to do this on my 89t
yeah I painted it myself. I am supposed to wait a week before I can color sand and polish it. I will probably do that this coming weekend if the weather is decent enough.
My only regret is that my initial tests with the paint made me think I needed to brighten it up to match the fenders, so I...
Well, in my case it seemed to work pretty well. I was getting bad compressor surge at low boost. My Blitz BOV was not triggering under 3lbs boost. It would blow off under higher boost just fine. I checked the valve and it was operating properly as far as I could tell, just not fast enough or at...
Picked up a Lexus AFM today, housing plus electronics for $60 shipped! Im keeping my eye open for a good deal on some 550's. Also starting to think about standalone engine managment. I am setting a budget of $1500 to get me from where Im at right now to 350hp.
Current upgrades are HKS clone...
well Im a complete turbo NOOB! so I figured it was a good idea to ask. By next month I hope to have the money for a turbo upgrade and so Im starting to look at options that will help get me to my hp goal.
If anyone has any advice on low budget upgrades please feel free to jump in.

is it a good deal? is it a good turbo for an otherwise mostly stock 89T? What all would I need to install it (v-band elbow, flange adapter or manifold, feed lines, etc.)
note: my HP goal for my car is 350HP
