Ohhh what's all that white shit all over ya car??? ;)
Is it early or late for Snow right now??
(Summer is slow getting it's shit together here, normally start of Nov is quite warm)(more pics of the cutie in the skirt thanks)
Ahhh ok!
Either can be dangerous doesn't matter where/when, we've all seen some of the freaky shit that happens at the strip under perfect conditions, doing it on the street just amplifies the amount/frequency of freaky shit that can happen.
I probably have more miles over 100 than most of our younger guys have in total so I'm the last person that would preach "don't speed" just have to be smart about it is all :)
It won't even mark the rocker (Don't know about the U engines but if you screw the geometry on an L the rocker will slice the lobe clean off without leaving a scratch on the rocker they're that hard)
My way of looking at it is it's only "worth" something if it's rare AND mint, this cam isn't...
That's very minor pitting Fix, never had much luck with straight cast welded repairs I think it would casue more damage and a hard face repair isn't cheap.
I have to say all the guys that have posted "I would have gone faster but my ******* was broken/worn out/vibrating" must have a death wish..... :nono:
Pushing a car with known issues is insane, anytime I do a top end run the car is perfect, ditto on people that buy a car and go out and run it...
If it's an L series engine it will have cemented carbide pads on the rocker (same stuff they make Lathe cutting tips out of) so I can't see it chewing the rocker....
If you were Ultra paranoid you could have it hard face welded then reground to spec but if it were mine I woulkdn't bother and...
You can get away with much more timing at idle Ant, 20>28 degrees will load the engine up a bit harder so you can use a touch more throttle position and overall this will give a nicer idle, just going to need to experiment a bit with your combination to learn what it likes.
That would be how I'd do it.
The whole cut/weld/drill/tap thing scares me shitless, in the Senna crash the parts were moddified by some of the most skill fabricators/weldors in the world and still failed....
Had really good results using Stoppers, not sure if they're THAT much better than a bead style and the downside is they're only available in 86mm x 2mm.
