Best way to get rid of TEMS switch ever!

here's a dumb question for ya, where'd you get the seat heaters? or are they one of those things that are in every seat but not hooked up? not that i'm going to put heated seats in my car, as it's a sumemer car, but i'm just curious! it looks WAY nicer than the TEMS switch! -shaeff

bout to torque my head down with arps

it'll hold fine. (Sorry:() when you're torquing it to such a higher number, say from 35-65 ft lbs, you dont need to back it off. you wont need the extra clamping force simply because of the thicker HG. -shaeff

bout to torque my head down with arps

heh, when i put my head on (just a few days ago) i made the same exact mistake. i had to pull all the studs back out to get the washers on. :( oh well, live and learn! however, i just followed the TSRM torquing method. i did three sequences. started at 35ft lbs, then bumped it up to 65ft lbs...

Code 11... Only in the 87-88 Turbo Supras

i think thats the ground for the ECU that's bad. look in the TSRM to find which wire it is, and make sure there's no break in it. i could be wrong, but i think i remember this happening to someone else as well, though i cant remember who. i believe it was a grounding problem. -shaeff

    Horsepower Expectation

autometer makes some good gauges. defi makes awesome gauges. (but you'll really pay for them) i have a megan racing boost gauge from 935motorsports. it's accurate, and it reacts quickly. thats exactly what i was looking for in gauges. i have a greddy wideband o2 gauge. (dont get a...

    Made myself a gauge holder...

allan, that looks like it'll be clean, however, are you keeping the boost gauge there? the boost gauge is something i'd like to monitor without having to look down that far. i'd put it higher, but know you said it's a mockup for trial, so i'm not sure if you're keeping them how they are. i was...

    valve cover gaskets....again.

well, do what you'd like, but i've seen far too many pics with people having leaky valve covers, and mine will never do that. :) it's ugly and messy! putting RTV around the entire thing wont HURT it, it helps guarantee a good seal. in the TSRM it says just to put some FIPG (basically RTV) in...

    Shaeff's buildup (400rwhp)

i live by www.supratsrm.com - the online TSRM (toyota supra repair manual) i've got all kinds of pics to upload, but my computer was being a dickface last night, so i couldnt. (i apologize) but to update the thread- today i put on the exhaust manifold assembly, as well as the turbo and...

    valve cover gaskets....again.

here's what you need to do, my friend. :) works like a charm. sorry about the HUGE pic. i'm new to the whole online hosting thing, and i pasted the wrong link, then when i tried to do a thumbnail, it was gone! it wont happen again, i swear ;) anyway, put a nice little coating of RTV on there, in...

    valve cover gaskets....again.

when i get home i'll post up a pic of what you should do. it works flawlessly for me. i've never had a leaky valve cover gasket since. (gray rtv sealant all along the mating surface of the gasket to the head) -shaeff

    oil pressure wtf

did it happen when you hit the brakes or something? if you're low on oil and hit the brakes, the oil will move away from the pressure sender and show low oil pressure. check your oil to make sure it's not low. the same thing happens if you're low on oil and go around sharp corners, the gauge...

    lexus afm

i never said it cant be done. i mean, look at JBLmk3. he put down over 400rwhp on the 440's. the key thing is tuning. most guys here (no offense to anyone) dont know how to tune yet. many wouldnt know to bump the fuel pressure. alot of people want to slap this stuff on and go, and i believe...

    Shaeff's buildup (400rwhp)

update: i've got the motor built back up to where it was before i had it ripped down, plus i used JBL's site to allign the CPS. worked like a charm. so now all i need to do are the manifold assemblies and wiring, put the clutch setup/flywheel back on, bolt on the tranny and i'm done. i'm going...

    driveshafts....

the back halves are the same, the front halves are different between turbo and N/A. (i believe the r-154 ((turbo)) driveshaft has a shorter front section because the tailstock of the tranny is longer) which would make the w58 (n/a) tranny's tailstock shorter than the turbo's, which would mean...

    Shaeff's buildup (400rwhp)

hey tony, thanks! yeah, i'll try pulling off the tensioner pulley and spring. that'll be easier than just moving the pulley over as far as it can go. pulling it off would enable the timing belt to go on at the right angle, instead of trying to kindof pry it on. then the pulley would just pop...

    zex dry shot on turbo

hey now, thats not very nice. take it to SF, where it's accepted. i think we've covered this in the past. leave him alone. besides, if i remember correctly, his car is relatively built. i'm sure it can handle a 50 shot. nash, i have no experience with n2o, however, using it to help spool...
