    My 280's in the 7M idled like a kitten..... It can be done, opening up the lobe centres helps as does a good tune and time.

    Not enough Tq for real men :aigo: (we never got em here either and we're closer and RHD) My "guess" is the emissions certification was an issue for a single model year when the Mk4 was just round the bend with sparks to fly ;)

    This is the grey area I was talking about earlier in the thread and why it's so important to tune on the Dyno and if mixing Meth/Water to do so very carefully. I always went on the rich side just to be safe.

    Try a machinery supply shop, they're a common tool. Not keen on the little round plates as they're easily overpowered by "muscle" and can leaves a less than flat surface, the plate I use is 12"x12" with centre mounted handles you use to guide it, as always Lapping is ONLY a finishing process...

    As far as I know it's never ran in that configuration, no dyno sheets or 1/4 times..... It's owned by a banned member here that still posts on SF.
