My last drag car had an $8000 Motec digital dash...
And right next to it Autometer Pro-Comps...
I've run them in every competitive race car I've ever had and never had a problem with gauge inaccuracy or build quality.
So is this "junk" opinon based upon personal experience, research, or...
I'll throw my .$02 in on this.
Quite a few of you guys know the motors I've built. There's no rocket science in building a 800, 1200 or 1500 hp motor. It's doable. It's VERY expensive, and a lot of compromises need to be made along the way. (And anyone who thinks you can make that kind of...
I can't believe I'm even replying to this...
The construction types of the WTC vs the Empire State are so different you might as well compare a fiberglass bass boat to an oil tanker...
Go do some research on the way those buildings are designed and come back after you've read up on both.
HKS does the following for the 7M:
Bead 1.2 mm
Bead 2.0 mm
Bead 3.0 mm
Stopper 1.0 mm
Stopper 2.0 mm
As far as I know, HKS hasn't made a grommet type gasket in years. I think they felt the same way I did about them. ;)
The easiest way is to look at the cross section of each gasket to see how it it makes it's seal
We'll start from least expensive to most expensive, and I'll throw my $.02 on each of them.
Bead Type:
As you can see, the bead type is exactly what it sounds like. A bead is run around each...
Powrd1.8T is FAMOUS from that hoax. It's one of the best car forum hoaxes ever pulled.
There was another guy on the overclockers forum who said he wanted to try this new "water cooling" he'd heard about. So he said he sealed up all the holes in his computer case and filled it with water...
The HKS gaskets are (in my opinion) the highest quality head gaskets available for the MKIII. The bead type is a basic metal head gasket, just like Cometic and others. The Stopper type is for high boost applications and buys you a bit of insurance.
You should be able to get a HKS 1.2 mm bead...
That's why you see this on drift cars. Drifting is all about oversteer. For anything other than a dedicated drift car it's a bad idea.
(Personally I think it looks like ass, but to each his own...)
I can never understand why you guys pay any attention to these idiots. I usually just shake my head and laugh at them. The Supra isn't some modified econobox - they aren't in your league.
This BOV is adjustable. You add "shims" (they are really washers) to adjust how far the pressure differential needs to be before it "blows off" - as long as you are generating some positive boost, and if the valve is set soft enough, it will blow off all the time. The tighter you set it, the...
A blow off valve simply releases pressure from the system when the throttle plate closes. This is to protect the compressor from the shockwave that is generated when the throttle plate slams closed. It also helps the turbo from 100% spooling down during a shift on a manual trans car.
