what's even more strange about those BMW's is that there's holes in the hood for the lights, instead of cutouts like our cars. so when you lift the hood, there's two huge holes there! weird!

Jdub: don't put the oil catch can where the charcoal cannister used to be. it's too hot there, and the oil won't liquify and "catch" there nearly as well as if you mounted it on the cold side of the motor. ;) if you search for a post i made about it, i have a diagram drawn up for a good way to...
for my style of driving, the eibachs are not up to the task. i'm not a: "go out and cruise" type person who takes winding back roads at a moderate speed. i like the twisties, and the eibachs have too much roll for me. (though, i do need sway bars)
i'm going with a linear rate spring, more...
if you don't remember what you wrote, then it doesn't matter anymore. i edited it because it was inappropriate, and i won't bring it into the thread. if you're interested in what you wrote, PM me.

i put the dash back in a few days ago. i like the location a lot. :) i *MIGHT* have to relocate the ECU. it looks like i can fit it up above the CC unit, but i'm not sure yet, as i don't have much time. :(

boost creep is when your boost creeps from one number up to another. say, if you have the MBC set for 10psi, and it slowly increases to 13psi. that's boost creep.
turbo lag is when the turbo takes a long time to spool to the point of creating positive manifold pressure. say, if a turbo...
grab the light panel on the windsheild side, near where the rear view mirror goes into it. then pull down/toward you a bit, and it'll pop right off. :)

no, it won't create lag. if anything, it would create FASTER spool time because it would be delaying the wastegate from opening longer.
think of it this way. take a regular drinking straw. tape a small flap of paper on the end of it, and blow through it. the paper opens fast, right? that's...
gix: you're only making 251rwhp? on a 57 trim? something sounds wrong. what was the boost level? i'm pushing 289rwhp on a stock dying turbo... creeping from 10psi to 15psi.
and i really mean my turbo is dying. it has chipped impeller blades, shaft play, and the death whine.

the j tube is there incase the stock fuel pressure regulator craps out. the restriciton in the j tube will cause enough backpressure to maintaing fuel pressure so you could limp home. with high flow pumps, the restriction is TOO much, and causes fuel pressure issues. (ie: too much pressure=...
bluepearl: that's on my list of things too do, as well. all of them are slightly bent outward. i was going to borrow my cousin's mig and run a bead behind them all. (doing the rears too, because one side is bent out enough that the alignment tech couldn't get it to match the other side. one is...
