    It would take helium to make the average Mk3 owners wallet lighter ;) OP: Don't think a spacer has enough volume to make any real difference, I played around with plenums from 2 litres to 7 litres and they just change the "hit" from the Turbo.

    I ended up sourcing a Kiekhaefer Marine 402 Block as a replacement, ironic part is my LS project engine is now a 402Ci thanks to the unplanned 4" stroker crank I picked up today ;)

    All depends on what chemicals are in the paint and if it's something that attacks the plastic in the fan weakening it.

    Durometer doesn't tell the whole story, OEM has huge voids so they're nowhere near as stiff as Polys.

    Hmmm dunno, never opened up a "factory" GTE, last one I built the owner had already pulled it down and replaced the stock slugs with Ross forged when it got to my place.. Be interesting to find out what it is!
