when pulling the engine: first take off and throw away the rear hook at the back of the head on the passengers side of the engine. it tends to straighten out, letting the hook from your cherry picker slide off allowing the engine to slam down on top of your radiator support. :eek3:

speaking of timing belts, i just pulled the turbo on my friends mr2 and i was just imagining what new curse words i would invent if that was my car and the timing belt broke......... read: mr2s are almost impossible to work on with the motor in the car.

um.... NO! 89+ style bumper will bolt up no problem to a pre 89 mkiii. the fitment of the actual bumper he is using however, is an issue all its own. i cant really tell if the fitment is that bad, however that would be a manufacturing or installation problem. the year has nothing to...

hah come on grim, you cant compare that to a "break in" period. example: freshly rebuilt motor should have the same amount of power it does before and after break in. (lets say you put 200 miles on it before you romped on it at all)

no, the 7m is a NON interferance motor. either the valve was bent before hand, or some debris entered the combustion chamber.

you can also unbolt the pressure plate. either way.

if enough material has been removed from the block and/or head then the motor could become interferance.

you have to adjust it. stock fuel pressure is from between 36psi and 40psi. start at 36, and adjust from there to 40 until your car idles right.

poke around here: mkiiitech.com you may find a build up in there that would be of interest to you...ask that guy what he thinks.

car WOULD be clean, except for that ugly ass bumper! make your car wonderful and replace that nasty shit with the stock bumper, or a more tasteful aftermarket piece.
