you can bump up the base timing a bit. theres a mod that you can search for to make the computer think the car is cold all the time, which will give you even more timing advance and a few other small mods. just save your money and go turbo when the time comes. dont rush it.

i am pretty sure that the fuel system in the non turbo mkiv is very different than the fuel system in the turbo mkiv, UNLIKE our cars where the ge and gte motors have an identical fuel set up with the exception of the injectors and a different stock fuel pressure. so maybe the non turbo mkiv...

eh you go back and tell them the rings didnt seat, tell them you want them to put straight 30 or 40 weight oil in there. if the motor isnt knocking then at least you know (with some certainty) that the bearings are all ok and thats half the battle right there.
