whatever dan said, i agree! he always seems to be well thought out and thoutful in his postings so you you can go by what he has said. i caught the jist of it and pretty much this sums it up:
when you have a supra, go turbo!
if you can afford one now, then yeah you might as well put an adjustable one on. aeromotive afpr is very popular. in fact, i just installed mine today!
you can bump up the base timing a bit. theres a mod that you can search for to make the computer think the car is cold all the time, which will give you even more timing advance and a few other small mods.
just save your money and go turbo when the time comes. dont rush it.
youd be surprised. people are getting richer and richer...this past month alone i have seen two different vipers serveral times around town, plus two more ferraris and a lambo.
i assume all local people due to the fact that i have seen the same ones over and over.
i am pretty sure that the fuel system in the non turbo mkiv is very different than the fuel system in the turbo mkiv, UNLIKE our cars where the ge and gte motors have an identical fuel set up with the exception of the injectors and a different stock fuel pressure.
so maybe the non turbo mkiv...
eh you go back and tell them the rings didnt seat, tell them you want them to put straight 30 or 40 weight oil in there. if the motor isnt knocking then at least you know (with some certainty) that the bearings are all ok and thats half the battle right there.
yeah i have some more. me and her had the high school sweetheart type of deal. tho she had to move out to utah with her family were planning on getting back together soon. we both want to move out to socali so that looks like our chance to give things a shot again.
if the dipstick blows out on your rebuild then for sure the rings didnt seat and thats that. i couldnt think of any other reason.
ummmmm, get a full refund and find a competant shop.
