If I remember correctly, drjonez's was an Abflug replica, which he has since replaced with an OEM unit. I also have an Abflug replica, and an OEM unit en route from Aussieland. My Abflug piece has studs 'glassed to the back.

Yeah, drjonez pointed out that I could likely build what I need from hotrod catalog. I'm going to pick a few up, and see what I come up with.
Yeah, that invoice total was around $820ish, but it included two rear upper a-arms/ball joints, which are about $325/each. ;) (I also get a decent...
Tim: Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing with those yet. I have brand new OEM units for them if I decide not to go with the nylon. This car doesn't see a huge amount of street time anyway, mainly some weekend nights.
Doward: Thanks! Yesterday I ordered new bearings for the hubs. I...
Tim- Good info. I don't mind noise/vibration. The more I can feel the car, the better. ;) I'm quite anal about checking things over on the car before I drive it/after it's driven. With the amount of street time it'll see, I doubt using a Heim joint will be a problem.
Hey Doc, I know you plan on replacing all your stock bushings with the same nylons I have from Geoff. The only documented failure is in the #1 arm as we all know.
I remember reading something that IJ. posted about not wanting poly (I assume he means the RK polys) in place of these- Click to...
You don't notice any unusual wear from using an open Heim joint? I assume you DD your car...
My concern is that grit will get in the joint, causing premature failure. :(
Interesting.
Boris- I've seen several people's reviews stating that there was "too much thread" sticking out on the Heim joints, too much for comfort. I know you can get them to tuck further in by adjusting the eccentric bolts, but I just wanted to hear your first hand experience with that as...
Thanks. :) I didn't get anything done today. Perhaps tomorrow I will.
I might just say screw it and go with all A1 suspension components in the rear, but I keep reading mixed reviews on them, so I'm not quite sure what to do yet...
I don't like the idea of open Heim Joints for a street car...
Ah, that's why I always wheel with a support vehicle- and only one goes into the sticky situations at a time!
I hope you have extended front and rear differential breathers, otherwise it's time to change the gear oil in your diffs!
I was planning to get the MC front bumper with the stinger...
