i have 5 crammed in mine, no need for a longer bolt, gets me a solid 10 pounds of boost, with the head work i have it creeps to 15 at higher rpms in 5th.
depends on the size of the motor and size of the turbo. on a small displacement motor with a small garden mower sized turbo, yeah youll be able to blow off every time you let off the throttle. like an srt4 for example.
for a couple hundred more you could have my completely rebuilt shortblock. and i also have a rebuilt head that if you buy the head and shortblock from me i can work out a good price for you.
1000 for the shortblock and 500 for the head, but get them together and ill let it go for 1200 all...
does the car always idle high or only when the motor is still cold (normal)?
you must check timing when the motor is up to operating temp.
fix your high idle and check timing again after you figure that out.
its a permissions issue. i use unix regularly and windows sparingly, so keep that in mind when considering my response.
youll have to switch to administrator mode or whatever kludge of a solution MS came up with to improve security, and change the permissions on that folder.
apparently, it has been done. unless it was just a big hoax some SC guys have done it. how reliable, successful have they been? i have no idea. but supposedly it drives just like stock, no extra fiddling required. im searching right now for the thread i have in mind, (with pictures!)
dont think ours can work that way. since fuel must go through the damper before it enters the rail, youll probaby end up with a fuel leak if you just have the damper screwed into the rail.
if you do decide to use the cork gasket on the oil pan (which you shouldnt...) ive had good results with using FIPG all over it. the key is to NOT over torque the oil pan bolts. one time i did it it didnt leak. another time someone else did it leak.
