you can get the plug out without removing the starter. you kind of have to force the back end (with the wire coming out) of the plug up to have it clear the starter. its tight, but its not impossible by any means.

for any people interested, ive spoken to a toyota alignment tech whos been doing this job since the mkiii was new. this guy said that only a year or two after the car was released these things would be seized up already. TWO YEARS! and your new cars adjustment cams are seized.

i noticed no improvement in performance or tranny temperatures (no way to moniter this, other than how hot the shifter gets...) with redline fluids. i DID notice a HUGE difference with mobil one gear oil. that shit is 10x better than redline, IMNSHO. shifter NEVER gets hot, and the second gear...

its very likely that the there is a short some where, you will have to re wire the knock sensors. yes, when the ECU detects a malfunction it will put the car in a "limp" mode. thats why its running like crap. dont drive it or try to beat on it, make the needed repairs first.

you will get a lot of power at 9psi using the NA pistons. youll have to moniter detonation MUCH more closely. you are essentially limited as to how much boost you can run, however with careful tuning and the proper fuel, this becomes less of an issue. the main thing is, the usual upgrade...

on this car, that rule does not apply. you DO NOT set the timing in that manner. you set it the way the TSRM tells you to set it.
