If you want one that bad, why not just grab a cheap ebay manifold, trace it out (I believe they're Greddy copies)- and re-sell it. Then you have what the manifold should look like, and could likely bring it somewhere to have it materialized in the metal of your choice. Then again, I know...

I used a set of my friend's trim tools and took my time. They work like a charm. :) Also, I'm pretty sure they're still available. :)

If I were you, I would make sure I checked the pin outs for each harness. Just because the connectors plug in, doesn't necessarily mean that the wires in them are going to the correct contacts in the ECU. ;)

Honestly, it would just be easier to get the proper harness, then it would all just plug right in.

Sounds like you had corrosion on the battery terminals, or a loose ground somewhere.

If you decide to weld, tack weld it bit by bit, and not in the same place twice in a row. Tack one side, then move to another, then another, etc... - you need to allow the panels time to cool down, otherwise you'll get warping.
