Well, welcome to the site Mr. Sabre. It's good to know that other people's kids abuse their cars, too, not to mention the fact that it makes me feel good to know that I'm not the only "mean" dad out there. ;)
^^^ What he said. I got a 240SX for my daughter and it makes me want to cry when I see the way she treats it. Unwashed for months, God knows when the last oil change was done, spun it into a curb which ended her up a $700 repair bill she tried to keep from me. But hell, it's the last one from...
Wow, depending on price I could be really interested in one of these. Has he made them with a dual pod? I've got a feeling I might be adding one more gauge.
Incredible story Lance. Wow...
So the engine you won; Was this a specific prize like "Best non-domestic thing we've ever seen!" or a drawing?
EDIT: Oh yeah, and keep us posted on when they're going to air this on ESPN2!
Must be an midwest or east/southern region thing, because I have met some incredibly friendly people, too - both online and in person. I'm probably the biggest dick in the region. Errr, make that I have the biggest dick in the region! :icon_razz
I LOVE your car!!!!!!!!!! It's definitely been added to my top few. Everything about it is perfect, and those wheels really caught my eye. It's tastefully different and really works. Welcome and post often!
Mine clunks when I have the wheels at full turn and start to move. I've seen a thread on this before, but I can't remember what the reason was. Seems to me it was something that wasn't easy to get at without having the engine out, so I'm living with it for now.
I saw an MKIII get crunched on a police videos show a couple of weeks ago. A 14 year old had stolen a car, ran from the cops, and nailed the Supra when she ran a stop sign - all caught on video from the helicopter. I backed up the DVR a couple of times to be sure it was a MKIII. The crash...
I'm finally perma-installing my boost gauge and am down to wiring the back lights.
The closest thing that I can find that makes sense to wire to (steering column mount) is the light dimmer, and from what I can see it looks like the perfect place.
There are three wires: Green, Black...
Seems to me the kit was about $60, give or take. The right plugs are on it, and yes, you ground one end - at the ecu. Worked like a charm. :bigthumb:
Just don't get stupid like me and forget to zip tie the new wires against the firewall. If you don't you will be splicing them back...
I don't think there's any danger in running with code 52, especially since the retarded timing is the ecu going into self protection mode. It just sucks to drive it. I don't know if there's any problem driving with 51, though.
Shaeff's kit is much easier, but the rear KS is a biotch to get...
Code 52 will retard timing, and I noticed a severe loss of power under boost when I was throwing it. Most of the time it's a problem with the old wiring harness, but you can PM Shaeff for an easy rewire kit that will fix it right up. :)
