My direct from RCE injectors were stuck shut. Apparently if they sit around for more than 30 days they can stick shut. If you have a 6 V power supply then you can apply briefly 6 Volts and listen for a click. Don't leave it on too long or it will overheat. Don't use 12 V, as that will fry them...
Old article, but gets to the point...
Ceramic composite brake rotors are standard on Formula One racers, and a new era of road-car use is beginning with their optional - and super high-cost - fitment on bad-boy models like the Porsche 911 Turbo and Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 F1.
In addition to...
Jdub is right on the money here. The first thing I would check is the so-called throttle cable. If it is too loose your shifts will be drawn out and mushy. This is a 5 minute test. Just follow the instructions here...

After reading these threads I'm a little nervous about MAFT Pro. Jdub, do you have one running well?

Could it be Permatex® Super “300” Form-A-Gasket® Sealant? At least here in North America, I cannot find any reference to a #4 or #5.

IJ, I can't find any mention anywhere online of permatex #4, only #1,2, and 3. Are you sure its #4? Here is the permatex website showing what I think they currently have...

:umno: The bottom line is vented to atmosphere. It just tucks into the little grommet on the frame rail.
Checking for any ECU codes would be a good start for the other problem.
Is there anything electrically noisy in the area like an ignition cable? The stock routing keeps it well away, but I've seen mods that put the ignition cables close to the engine wiring loom.
A few hoses are available in the aftermarket, but most of the molded speciality hoses are only available from Toyota. I figured since the first batch lasted some 16 years, I would stick with what works and ordered the Toyota ones again. This is most of them for a 7MGTE.

You might want to read this if you are thinking about installing a NACA duct. Its a Miata, so not directly applicable, but some of the concepts could be carried over.

Sorry, not sure what level you are at.
If you know about Tayor series, then
e^x = 1 + x + x^2/2! + x^3/3! + ...
so substitute it in for e^x and then you are left with a polynomial. The higher order terms are small so can be ignored, then you are left with a simple polynomial and you...
expand e^x in a taylor series, then solve
1-2x-x^2/2! - x^3/3! - .... = 0
Every polynomial of degree n has n complex roots, counted with their multiplicities.
lim x->0 = 1 lim x->inf = -inf and derivative is <0 from 0 to inf so only one root.
