I just give the knuckle a good smack and they usually come apart. Pickle Fork works good too. Get one at any autoparts store. Ask for ball joint separator or pickle fork. they'll know.

Remote mounted turbo on a supra is just plain dumb. You can get a stock turbo manifold for $30 I challenge you to do the same with an STS setup. You'll need an oil pump, lines, and not to mention 12' of IC piping...

I just use either silicone paste or copper anti-seize in those slides. Never had a problem.

Yep. Remove the valve covers (cam covers) and look down in there. If there are bolts, then verify that they are either an allen head bolt, or a 12pt bolt. If it's an allen head bolt, then it's factory. 12pt, ARP and if it's a stud, then it's definitely ARP

Check all turbocharger related piping. Any leak is bad. It'd be a good idea to spray soapy water around so it will pinpoint any leaks quickly.
