I wonder if any of you can point me in the right direction for this problem (if it is indeed a problem)
I am preparing to do a lot of work to my 88 Supra Turbo over the winter as I find that the previous owner, while doing some good stuff to the car, beat the hell out of the drive train. All...
I like that color, gonna be very sharp car. Just as a side note, I took my 88 Supra into a body shop, we went over what I like and what I dont like and what I want fixed. Basically, the quote comes in at about 2500 for my repairs (and thats "almost" painting the entire car again), but he told...
Nobody likes lawyers all that much, but now is when I would use one. In Canada its a bit different then the states, I had my car appraised for 6k so if anyone hits my car.. its gonna take 6k to total it. (88 Supra)
I would so sue.... but thats me :)
(and.. as I explained to my daughter...
Well, im buying up all the parts because winter is coming. Going to do everything I can in one shot (less work that way), so the top of the engine will be torn down anyway, so I will be fairly careful of all the wires, etc. (gonna be doing lots of pics cause I suffer from very poor short term...
Well, every replacable hose on my engine is going to be replaced (then I know all of their ages) and hopefully every one will be upgraded as well. I have been trying to track each one down and understand its function and see if it can be routed better and have a better hose used. For a lot of...
Thats weird.. why would the hose leak then... I dont see any cracks and it doesnt seem like a pressure line.. (mind you it is a larger hose. I think I will see if I can find a different hose form for it and use that instead, because I think it has about 8" more than what it actually needs...
I have searched the forums but I may have the incorrect name for this part. Its the hose that comes from under the oil filler cap (where you put the oil into the engine) and snakes behind the altenator to go back into the block above the oil pan. Mine is leaking at the bottom and I want to...
I like the engine compartment... very smartly done. uh-oh.. I feel jealousy coming on...
I love the body package actually, although would never do it. Did you do that all yourself?
I'm not quite sure where its leaking because it seems to pool on one end of the tank and then drip (not a large leak). It could be a pinhole but its odd because I haven't driven over any rocky ground or anything that would bounce up and perforate the tank. I'm going to have to find a hoist and...
My father-in-law will weld the tank for me, but he wont do it on the car. There is a tank repair shop in town, gonna see what they think... but in the end, I will probably do it myself. First gas tank I have ever had leak. not bad for 30 years of driving :)
There is no true answer for the strut bars actually... they sell them for 10 bucks or 34 bucks.. depending on which ones .. (the one's I have seen anyway). I dont imaging a huge amount of engineering going into them. I bought the bar, but as I said before, I wont be putting it on. Its "iffy" as...
Agreed! :)
Now.. on a totally different tangent... I gotta replace my gas tank. Is it me.. or does every MKIII owner run across these little nightmares springing forth when you least expect? And... how the heck did I get a leaking gas tank???
sigh.. dont think you can patch em.. so time to...
Nah.. its an excellent chin-up bar for the den. Just bolt it to the studs and ... voila! Chin-up bar! Or.. for the kinky out there....
I can see the 2 sides to it, but really I dont believe that the way these bars are situated will do enough good to warrant usage. The bad part is.. if you do...
Ahh.. damn it! Thats right! I read that and forgot all about it. (one of those mental notes that I put on my mental fridge and forgot to mentally look at it... DOH!
Now.. there's a good "this weekend" thing to do! Will let you know results on that. :)
And here's where I saw it... lol...
So... on a side note... before I go and read up a whole lot on this... the rule of thumb is.. dont clean the afm?
off to read :)
Oh yeah.. TPS... its in the EFI System Section.. Page 2... (of the TSRM)
At the risk of sounding fastly stupid.. I have no idea what a tps is.. lol. Its not a term I am familiar with, so I will let someone with giant mechanical brains tell you if they pop in here. :)
:cry:My reason for buying them though was the big shake I got at 150 kph with the targa off... the day after i bought it... talk about shocking.. lol
Too bad it wont work.. didnt cost much :)
Thank you for the response regarding Permatex silicone sealant, And regardless of if I leave...
I looked at the strut tops, did the trigonometry in my head really quick and was thinking about force vectors (I went to school to be a Civil Tech and those factored large in our training...). I couldn't see how it would do any good at all other than looks or if I got hit on the side (which...
