^ He was totally losing it over on SF because he found an HKS FCD and some other HKS electronic gizmo in his car. Didn't seem like either was working.
Next thing I know he said he was going to make this thread... thats about the best explanation I can give, LOL.
Yep, a week or so ago I drained and refilled the PS system, when I replaced a couple seeping lines. The screen in the reservoir was far from clogged and the fluid coming out looked clean and smelled fine.
It's made exactly the same groan before and after I did this.
I'll pull the wheels today...
Hmm, looks like a missed a word all together on that one. I meant to say steering wheel. It may be faintly noticeable at my feet but certainly not in the seat or anywhere else.
If it is changing (intensity or frequency) with speed, maintaining the same radius, it is a barely perceptible...
Be sure to report back. I've also got some possible issues with my front main, oil pump drive seal and oil pan. (Mine won't drip ever, just leaves a nice coat on the undercover.)
So:
New wheels/tires went on the car a couple months ago, 225/45/17 on it at the moment. I noticed immediately after I put them on, a low speed (parking lot) groan from the steering when turning ANY angle but dead straight; which indicates nothing is rubbing since once it starts it remains...
I like RBF600... I've seen it take some pretty hard abuse in race cars so I'd say its way more then enough for a comparably tiny/slow auto cross course.
Of course, I will put the disclaimer in here that it is just a tool. If you don't use it properly and react very quickly to it, it still won't do jack for you.
