Which trim. Body trim or window trim?
Body trim switch to 89+ and paint them. Pre 89 rust.
Window trim strip the old broken faded plastic off and paint them or powder coat them. Can also plastidip but might not last all that long.
The squirters help with keeping the pistons cool. There a good thing. Most turbo engines have them.
But there has been number opus high hp 7m that have had them blocked off with forged pistons.
Don't want to go more than 40 over on either block. Plus that would require custom pistons.
The newer blocks are about 2mm thicker all around. But the space between cylinders is the same.

What kind of realistic power are you trying to make.
The later block I stronger. There's no info on exactly how much power each motor will take. Too many factors.
Should be -3 feed iirc and usually -10-12 drain. 10 should be fine as long as it has a clear path.
Could also use a restrictor on the -4.
Sounds like too much oil or not enough drain and it's blowing past the seal.
