Should be -3 feed iirc and usually -10-12 drain. 10 should be fine as long as it has a clear path. Could also use a restrictor on the -4. Sounds like too much oil or not enough drain and it's blowing past the seal.

The bottom one will work better tho a side to side will be the most efficient. Also longer the piping the more of a pressure drop.

Define great? Cause it would have been miss firing as there wouldnt be compression on that cylinder.

The rhd drive cars have heat shields. That would have been important to know. Heat from the exhaust is likely cooking the seals.

tho it wouldnt really be running too great with a hole in the piston.
