    Need 88 auto tranny

I have a 89 auto transmission. That sucks. I would have sold it to you because I have no use for it. Came out when I did my five speed swap.

Ok, no problem Ken. Was not flaming you, just asking. The Rouge is the brand that you used for polish? Which Sparco seats are they? Fighter?

Should I use Copper Spray on Metal Gasket?

The gaskets are cheap and most speed shops have them. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to reuse them because the copper spray is to help seal. You can scrap the metal gasket clean if you want to reuse a next time.

How come you kept the EGR? I would of removed it and used the japanese ECU. You are using a MAFT pro, so you could have tuned it to where you would have lean issues. The EGR to me just is an eye sore. I know I might get flammed for this but why not remove it if you have the option to tune...

So I finished my intercooler piping now and started the car up. Pictures tomorrow. I currently have two problems... -Code 24 -Code 51 I know what both codes are. I have a code 51 which is the TPS but I did not touch the sensor. My throttle linkage is not working properly and is...

Oil System chacteristics after Jdub's Oil System Upgrade

Kenny, did you use a new oil pump or a used one in your build? JDub, is it needed to shim a new oil pump? I got lucky when I bought a second Supra. The guy had taken apart the engine and forgot how to put it back together. It was sandblasted in his garage and the oil squiters were new, not...

Oil System chacteristics after Jdub's Oil System Upgrade

Running a quart over would bee good to do but do it the right way. Fill up your car with six quarts, five is for stock. Crank with EFI fuse pulled, check to make sure you get oil pressure. Then recheck the oil level and refill back to full level if needed. It depends on how big of an oil...

Good job man. Get some engine harness loom and strip the old one and put some new loom on there. It really changed the engine bay. I did it for mine and looks really good. You can see it in my build thread.

    New 7M Build....

Here is a new update guys. The shop has been busy, so that is we have no had time to work on my Supra. I finally got time this weekend to install the piping and intercooler and keep the bumper support, which was the last major thing to do before all the little small things before the first...

Machinist installed cam guide hold downs wrong.....am I SOL

Replacing the cams and caps with ones in better condition can work but you will need to check clearances. Every engine wears differently. It might not even be required to change any shims but I would take the time to do it since I will have everything apart.

    7mgte Header / T04 question

So if I honed all my cylinders to get a good surface and checked every clearance of all the rings to make sure they are within spec and when I say "within," I mean in the middle of the range, not the lowest or highest it can be, then how should I break in the engine?

    7mgte Header / T04 question

The rings should be exposed to minimal amount of boost and vacuum. Don't full throttle the engine right away. I spoke to IJ, a knowledgeable person, about this samething and he said that any rebuilt 7M should not really go through a harsh break-in. Make sure you do a few pulls from about...

    HKS SSQV valve response

Did you change the spring? The HKS SSQV is a good blow off valve, you can change the spring to a stiffer one that comes with it but if you did not, then the softest spring is already present in there.

Machinist installed cam guide hold downs wrong.....am I SOL

You can should leave it because if it weared, it will wear itself in by now. Don't touch it, leave it alone if it is not causing a problem.

MK3 Supra 350 Small Block swap

I don't know about you but tuning a carb is one of the things on my easy list than tuning an AEM. Secondly, I don't find cams to be that big of a job because I have installed and check clearances on different types of heads. I don't know about your mechanical skills so I won't say anything...
