    7m maximum RPM

The 7M was never meant to be a high revving engine but if you upgrade the oil system and make sure all the specs are within range, you can do some pretty good stuff.

    question on the 7m

You can eliminate the cruise control setup though. Pull the engine harness and everything attached to it. Take the whole setup by the fuse box where the igniter mounts too. It has a lot of important sensors.

    ct26 and tubular manifold?

Do a T4 on the tubular manifold. The tubular manifold does make the 7M sound really nice.

    The rebuild that happened twice.

I just like to use a bead of silicon on the intake side for piece of mind. I use a light grade of emry cloth to polish the surface after I clean it with our parts washer. I am not loading the oil pan with silicone but I am not being greedy either. I once put a bead and well, it leaked and I...

    Starter always engaged... HELP !!!!

Remote start systems are fine for a starter if they are hooked up to stop when a RPM signal is achieved and not crank for a certain amount of seconds.

    Stay 7M or go 1jz or 2jz?

I agree with Grim. JZ does not mean it is immortal. You should atleast throw a set of bearings, rings, head and bottom end ARP studs,a metal headgasket, oil pump, and waterpump. Allt hose things just make sense because what is the use in getting a 2JZ, throwing a T66 on their and then your...

    The rebuild that happened twice.

No problem. Another tip, you should use silicone on a lot the gaskets. Intake, upper and lower, front timing cover, rear seal(on the housing), waterpump and throttle body. I have never used a throttle body gasket from any kit because all of them don't have the right size for the butterfly...

    Kevin's 7M low hp build

Make sure you don't mix up the caps. Each cap must go back to the rod it came off of. You can label it 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 from the from of the engine. if you mixed up the buckets and the shims, it is no problem. Put in each bucket and shim and then measure the clearances after you torqued down...

    The rebuild that happened twice.

No, do not use the oil pan gasket. Use Permatex silicone and use a lot of it. Be very generous....imagine you are about to have see all the Vagina in the world and have a chance to get every one of them, do you only want to bring on condom? Use a lot of silicone or you will regret it. If you...

    The rebuild that happened twice.

Well for internals, you can get a set of NPR pistons that come with rings and pins from DriftMotion for $120.00 plus shipping, if you plan on keeping stock internals. The gasket set you have is a good one, I used the same. Don't use the oil pan gasket, it seals with silicone and make sure you...

Have motor out of car again what else should I do??

How old was the Koyo radiator when it started to leak? What color coolant were you running? Dex-Cool or Toyota Red? I got myself a Prosport Temperature gauge that has an "Amber Color Alert." It basically changes from the white to amber when it goes over the peak amount, which you are allow...

No spark on my 89 turbo

T-MA71, that is what I told him. If the "Check Engine Light" does not come on, it means that the ECU is either bad or is not getting power. Obviously, we all would check for power before we try a different ECU. Like Crazy said, check +B and B to see if you are getting 12V when the "Ignition"...

No spark on my 89 turbo

With the ignition on, does the "Check Engine Light" come on? If not, that means that the ECU is not getting power, or it is bad. I have only seen on bad 7M ECU. The person had the black piece by the valve covers off since it was broken and it looked like some wires touched. When I opened the...

    The Mistress

O, I forgot. 2J's have a different connector on the engine harness to pull information. It would be nice to have that for the 7M. What would be nice for the 7M is something like what Nissans have, they send out their computers and a guy puts in a chip and a data port so you can tune the fuel...

    What muffler is this?

Everytime I see Ron's car, I want to run to his house and steal it. That thing is just too nice, good job. Those wheels just match the car well. I can't find a nice set of black rims that will show my brake upgrade for my Red 1989 Supar....
