IIRC 3k is where the fuel pump relay clicks over to 12volts so that could be your stumble. The fuel pump might not be big enough to feed those huge 1000cc injectors at higher rpms.
Here's a stupid question that I hope I know the answer to. Have you fixed the issues in this thread http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?157659-adjusting-the-Afpr or did the problems go away and you just ignored them?
ka24de is so so so very underpowered.. You'd be better off to just put in another 22re.. They have no bottom end power, I've been in many many 240's with a bolt on ka that still has no low end balls.
Many engines are run without intercoolers, but they were designed for it with lower compression and less aggressive timing maps. Instead of running no intercooler I'd just find a very small one to route basically on the piping.
Please, please please please, hide the keys from yourself. Search this engine up and down and side to side then once you think you figured it out, search more. What happened to you was your engine telling you something is fucking wrong. Just because it went away and is driving 'great' doesn't...
Oil that smells of fuel THAT bad isn't lubricating like it should be anymore.. Think what fuel does to oil, it dilutes it heavily. What do you use to clean off oil/grease from parts? A petroleum(Gas) based cleaner. Stop pushing this engine before it's not there to push anymore..
Well, you're running 550's and a lex afm which will normally make you run 10's under full throttle anyways. That's why people say you get a safc to at least pull some fuel from the very rich spots. What your almost doing is getting cylinder wash, I bet your oil smells heavily like fuel. Just...
Did it change the ride height at all? Could we get some pics? Install difficulty? Did you get any other parts such as new bump stops or shock covers etc?
Since this is basically 'straight pipe' you should listen to some other sound clips as this turbo model has the same rattle as a N/A, I'd be looking for some problems lol
Please, for the love of whatever you believe in, do NOT damage the mating surface to the back of the turbo. The metal gasket as more than likely molded/stuck/welded itself unto both of the surfaces. Mine was VERY difficult to get off even with the turbo on a bench. The studs are probably helping...
This might be of some help to you since you seem to have a few questions. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?5631-7M-assembly-tips.
Hardness testing is done many ways, this might be a fun read for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockwell_scale
You'll want to take them the...
First, since you changed your pipes have you done a boost leak test first? I bet you've got a leak since you changed pipes. Changing the piping size won't confuse the ecu as its still seeing the same air the AFM is measuring but having a leak in the system will cause the ecu to add fuel that the...
