I hope he is ok.
That is Fu'ed. Always burns me up to hear about stupid people like that.
billspreston01 your so right soon enough there will be none left that are good. You will have to start trolling the scrap yards trying to find one to rebuild from scratch
Well since everyone is divulging what they got there supies for heres what i got
1990 turbo that had 94,000km that's 59,030 miles all original with a custom paint job (the paint needs some work though), Mags, already lowered, springs and upg.shocks. HKS exhaust Cat back only. i paid $9500 CAD...
Gull-Wings would be the way to go. Only supra i have seen with those was long ago it was a MKIV no surprise there but it was heavily modified. it would take and inmense amount of work to make Gull's on our supras
mcpcola: you are very right about allot of that but think about other things yes allot of companies go to others to get there engines now. But on the other hand there are still many other components to a car.
Mark3Supraholic: I dont think the Japanese and there racing heritage have to do with...
that’s very true and a sad but true by-product of our society
as far as Toyota over engineering that is correct but Toyota is not American is my point different views and beliefs about how a product should be and where they make there money. On that same note Toyota Manufacturers allot...
dead on
it's not about great engineering it all about the bottom line.
Maybe you could call it great engineering to make a car last a specific amount of years and then thats it. Many companies refer to this as Quality Control
i read your post and for the most part i agree with you.
I would not say that the Engineers at GM are any less experienced or seasoned then the ones at Toyota. I think it all comes down to Money. For GM or any of the Big three in the US to work to tighter tolerances and make better car all...
i know i wont drop the subject and mostly cause i want to learn. Some people learn best by reading themseves others by what people sumurize to them.
either way still missing my point if the EGR help in crusing in general is it only to help pass emmisions testing or does it provide any other...
But that was not really my question
If it is good for redusing detonation it would make sense that Toyota would have equiped this to all there 7M Engines yet they did not. So Detonation makes sense but seems not to be the reason why it is there. US supra or JDM detonation is still bad why...
Why do you think this and then why is it that the original design the JDM version of the Engine does not have this. If it was that advantageous wouldn't Toyota want to equip the item on all Supras
Just my curiousity as well. Since i was thinking of taking it out and why its not on the JDM cars.
I think there are but i dont remeber for sure. I would have to take it all apart again.
I like your idea too IJ. I will figure out what i will do. i am not to sure yet
Soulds like a good idea i was kind of thinking the same thing but i will still chnge the HG on the JDM for a stocker with arp stud torque down to 85-ft/lbs
A mild Rebuild is a good idea.
Also maybe send the block off to be cleaned and painted
Ok here are the numbers Guys
Sorry it took an extra day my landlord got pissed at me doing work on my car in the garage
I did not put any oil in any of the cylinders to get these numbers
PSI

#2 - 160
#3 - 80 :3d_frown:
#4 - 145
#5 - 170
#6 - 165
I might just put it back together and...
I have a bad feeling too. but there is still hope left. My engine is evil but somewhere deep in there. there still is some good left. LOL all that aside
we will see. If i have to get another engine i am going to have to pay someone to put it in cause i am just not able to do a job that big.
