I Think IJ And Betty White Would Be A Good Couple. Grumpy Old Man And A Happy Old Lady, Imagine That.
IJ Has To Be Grumpy, Look At His Smiley, It Is Grumpy Too. LOL!
So I went to the machine shop today to drop off my Camshafts and he brought the head out for my to take a look at. It was hot tanked and was getting ready to go in once again. Looked decent to me and they don't paint any head so no covering up the dirt. :)
Bad new is that it is going to take...
Goodies Came In....Everything to lock up the engine and bolt the head on. Just waiting on the machine shop. Took the camshafts today so the lashes can be set after the valve grind.
HKS? :)
Pulled the pistons and crank last night. You can still see the factory crosshatch. The bore is in excellent shape, no ridge at the top either.
Bearing and crank had not scouring on either of them. Engine barely had carbon build up on the inside as well. Oil changes look to be up to date and...
I took my old VSV valve to ny auto parts store and they matched it up with a set they had and told me the size, I believe it is 14X1.25. I cannot remember exactly.
Are you trying to out a temperature sensor in that area? Any speed shop, not the ricer ones, would have an adapter, if that is...
Change the oil pump, most people just change the waterpump because of the hydrofan setup. A lot of MKIII owners would not even do that if the engine came with that same pump from the factory. That is why MKIV guys call MKIII owners cheap.
Not all of us are like that. I change everything in...
O, okay. That is a good deal. Makes 100% sense that you are going to save and do it right. I took apart my 1JZ recently and plan on upgrading to a single but run stock fuel and boost to break in the engine and after that.....EMS and full fuel upgrade...feed and return lines, pumps, injectors...
I hope to go down to SILV next year. What was the cost of running on the dyno? Is there a fee to attend because the pictures show that it takes a lot of work to organize it.
Nice. Those are some
Good numbers. Still in stock computer and fuel? You can hit 400 easily if you raise the boost and upgrade the fuel. I am not sure but 550's would be enough to run 400 to wheels. I can be corrected.
ATK rebuild are done very well. I got one from a guy who was getting out of the Supra stuff and it is running perfectly fine with extremely good oil pressure.
