my .02c would be no...don't do it. If you're doing it, just pull the whole thing apart and check for warpage. The other problem would be that the head and block needs to be re-cleaned to make sure it seals correctly. Just take it apart.
That sux. My sister backed into my car on christmas day. I was sitting at the end of the driveway waiting to back into the road and she was going to follow me, except she didn't realize that I was still there and she backed right into the front of my car (in a 92 cavalier). Only damage is a few...
I've got one you need.
1989 Turbo - Super White 3, code 043
I'll try to get a better pic soon (after the next decent wash/wax)
feel free to resize them or whatever you want. I just confirmed the paint code last night, I'll try and get a pic of that too for verification :)
welding the spider gears together to get a solid diff. Which means both of your tires spin at the same speed all the time. Which means that when you turn one of your tires will rub because the inner tire spins slower than the outer one on a regular diff. and now they'll both spin at the same...
I'm very interested in the boost gauge also. A writeup should be done on that. I need a higher gauge but I don't want to go a-pillar yet and I don't want anything mounted behind the steering wheel,. Very very nice.
haha...I didn't re-torque mine...and I might have a bhg now at 5k miles. Although I doubt it's a bhg, I think it's a hose. If you don't want to pull the valve covers off and double check just to be safe...well...you might want to find a car that needs less attention :) haha. I don't know if you...
***reviving old thread***
I would do a longer search but I don't have the internet and I can only be on for a few minutes right now. The question is:
I was driving my car, started smoking, temp gauge spiked, I opened the hood and I was getting loads of smoke and some coolant coming from...
Yeah, i think it's the drill hole and the notch if I remember correctly. it might not line up perfectly but that's why it has the pivot bolt, just try to line it up as best you can and then slide it in nice and easy (make sure the engine is set to TDC). You might want to try it a few times...
I missed it too but that was because a) my car isn't ready to dyno b) I really had to get my friends car put back together that weekend.
I heard it was great though and I encourage all Ohiosupras to attend the next meet!
I have 2 heads hence 48 shims myself and they're all thinner than what I need. I think last time I checked I had 24 sitting on my shelf, and I still needed to order 12 from somewhere to make my good head work right. I'd be in for trading my shims to get some larger ones. I need like .120 up to...
well...if your intercooler isn't big enough to cool that baby...you could always shoot for a cry02 setup. With everything they carry now I'm sure you can get the temps down. Fuel bar cooler, air intake cooler before and after the intercooler, and a large intercooler sprayer...you'd be lucky if...
haha....turbo 5spd = r-154, n/a 5spd = w58 (obviously the turbo tranny holds more) I know that the auto's are a340's (a340e? I think is the mkiv auto) not too sure on that
I don't think the r-154 is completely indestructible (actually I know it's not) but I'm pretty sure they'll hold quite a...
Spent the past 2 days at NOPI at Norwalk Raceway in Ohio. There were 2 mkiii's that I had never seen before but I'm sure you guys have heard of them and/or seen them. They were both were 2jz powered. One was a semi street car on radials running a mild cage, decent single turbo, and a turbo 400...
