Why? It only take a couple minutes to drop it. There's a drain bolt on the bottom of the tank to get the fuel out, to. It'll take longer to measure and cut the hole than drop the tank.

^^ There's your answer. It needs to relearn the idle without the throttle open. If it stalls, just start it again and let it idle until its warm. Usually mine resets within a minute or 2.

Does it run hot? Does it have a thermostat in it? How old is the thermostat?
